Wonderful,
Score from 516 reviews
Located by the sea, this renovated, attractive mansion is situated in a quiet residential district of St Malo. La Villefromoy offers an authentic experience and a warm, personalized welcome. After acquiring this charming house, the hotel's new owners restored the building to the glory of its former days in the Second French Empire. It blends traditional features with modern facilities. Guest rooms are exceptionally comfortable and feature a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi access and a TV with foreign channels. Décor is simple and elegant. Start the day well with the tasty buffet breakfast. Sip a drink in the lounge bar, or sit out on the terrace or on the grounds when the weather is nice. Enjoy the stunning sea view. Go for a relaxing stroll on Rochebonne Beach, or walk into the walled city to see some of the important historic sites. Return to the hotel for attentive, warm service. Hotel Rooms: 21, Hotel Chain: Chateaux et Hotels Collection, Hôtels de Charme et de Caractère. Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 12:41 from France.

Staff friendly and very helpful. Location good - virtually on the seafront. If you like walking, you can stroll all along the beach promenade into the old town - absolutely lovely and takes about 25 minutes. Room spotlessly clean and a good size. Would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly, attentive and relaxed staff. Our receptionist actually looked up a French word to give us the meaning (bocage). Beautifully peaceful location. The absence of air conditioning makes it very quiet at night. Attractively restored rooms including bar and lounge. Excellent breakfast. Very pleasant balcony outside one of our rooms. I would be concerned that the rooms might be quite warm in the summer. We had our bedroom window open even on a coolish night (10C).

My wife & I stayed overnight due to our boat service from St Malo being cancelled due to adverse weather. The hotel was ideally situated about 2 miles from the Port. As French hotels go- this was one of the best ones we have stayed in. Good standard of comfort & decor. Staff v friendly and bilingual. Off road parking was useful. Restaurants nearby. 50 yards fromm the sea. Large - 6foot bed and a bonus was an electric kettle etc on the dressing table. Will not hesitate to use it again. Many thanks

Very comfortable hotel with very good staff, well decorated and positioned with free off road parking and spacious bedrooms with large beds. A very pleasant and relaxing stay. The promenade which is 50 metres from the hotel provides a very pleasant 30 minute stroll to the Intro Muros (walled town) of St Malo. Access to Brittany Ferries is a few minutes drive from hotel (turn right at first roundabout after Intro Muros. 1. Only 2 tea bags in the bedroom. For coffee you have to use a machine and pay. Seams very very mean when paying over £150.00 for a room. 2. Music (modern/horrible) is played in the breakfast room and bar. When staff were asked they did turn it off. Some light classical music would be more suitable for the ambiance of the hotel.

Location was good for us as we like walking but is a good 35/40 mins walk to the old town. Lovely walk along back of beaches. No problems parking at hotel which is difficult in old centre. Had a fantastic room on ground floor with a terrace where we had table and chairs so could sit outside and enjoy the sun also two deckchairs. Hotel has no restaurant but eateries near by, there is a bar for drinks. Hotel has a lovely friendly feel with very helpful staff. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice but @13.50e each for cold food we felt was rather expensive. Can have some hot choices but this is extra.

Slendid second empire villa with character offering bright and elegant lounge and bar areas. The hotel is just steps away from the sea and beach and about a 30 minute walk to St Malo 'Intra Muros'. We stayed in Room 4 which has a lovely sea view, first class amenities and mellow atmosphere coupled with luxury class bedding ensuring a restful nights sleep.

The hotel is in a quiet location in a residential area with secure off street parking. The hotel is tastefully decorated in a contemporay style which also retains some beautiful original features. The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, taking time to answer any questions that we had, even down to telling us how far away each restaurant was! Quite handy after along drive!! Our room was lovely, with a view of the sea as promised, the bonus being the balcony where we had breakfast the following morning.

Elegant and stylish hotel that we used as a Ferry stopove but will most certainly now use as a destination of itself. Beautiful beach a few yards away and great restaurants and the City a brisk walk away. Excellent car parking in the hotel grounds

Excellent hotel; staff attitude and friendliness outstanding. Charming rooms. No tea/coffee facilities. We had early start and no time for breakfast. We probably could have asked for a coffee, but would have preferred to look after ourselves and get off.

Our second visit to this hotel and we would not stay eleswhere in St Malo. Although there is no restaurant apart from a breakfast room (and breakfast is always very pleasant there) they have a list of restaurants both nearby and within the town centre and will always book your table for you. As this was our final night in France ( we'd been there since Sept 9) before boarding the morning ferry to Portsmouth we dined out at 'La Cap Horn' about 10 minutes walk down the 'Prom' where we had a fantastic meal for just over 100 Euros. The only minor problem is a lack of sound proofing. There was a small child in the next room this time and the parents appeared to sanction the infant bouncing a ball against the wall. We might have said something had we been there for more than one night!

Location excellent, right next to the beach and long promenade. Particularly appropriate if you have an early ferry departure. Excellent restaurants and touristy things to do. Especially liked the spacious, bright lounge for those times when you come in but you don't yet want to go to your room. Staff friendly and informative. Private parking.
