This B&B is lovely. You enter through a main door into a lovely courtyard. Our room was very spacious and the decorating was very trendy and beautiful. The bed was comfortable with nice bedding. The shower is huge with a rainshower head. The breakfast was very nice. There was a selection of cheeses, breads, yogurt, fruit salad and fresh squeezed juice. There is a beautiful common room to relax in but we didn't use it as our room was so comfortable.
We liked everything about Le 5. Compared to the rest of the places we stayed in France, the price is a little high. It would be nice to be able to make coffee or tea in our room or in the common area.
Apart from hotel design: all the rest
Wonderfully converted winery with very individual rooms. Lovely breakfast in a delightful breakfast room. Very helpful owner
Perfectly located with spacious, modern comfortable rooms that have been thoughtfully and artistically decorated. Cap this off with a truly excellent breakfast and a host who is both charming and caring, and you could not ask for more. 5 stars.
Location Furnitures Design
unfriendly staff non-flexible hours for breakfast, for reception and for payment Noisy (room windows at street level)
Very creatively designed, central location and perfectly clean. The children thought it was amazing...!
A little expensive with a small (but tasty) homemade continental breakfast
Staying at Le 5 made our short stay in Beaune even more memorable. Chrystelle, the owner, was a perfect hostess, welcomed us in her home, and served us breakfast in a very sophisticated and yet relaxing atmosphere. Yummy home made jams and gorgeous freshly squeezed melon and mint juice. The b&b is decorated and furnished with much attention to detail. The room was very speacious and welcoming (we stayed in Suite 3).No problem with the parking - on arrival we were given a card for the car park just opposite Le 5, so very easy to unload and load the car. Would definitely reccommend and will certainly try to go back!
Almost everything. The Family Suite was like something from a home design magazine. The location is central with a car park directly opposite. Breakfast was simple but fresh. And the manager was a very hospitable hostess (until check out time). If it wasn't for the incident that arose when coming to pay for the room I'd have been eulogising about this place as one of the best places of its type I'd ever stayed in.
The BUT. And it is such a shame to have to write this. We stayed for one night in August 2014 but actually booked it through Booking.com in October 2013. When we came to pay the manager tried to charge us current rates (Eur 224) and would not honour the actual rate we secured when we originally reserved (Eur 185 + Eur 4 city tax). Only upon presentation of my Booking.com confirmation did the manager with VERY great reluctance agree to honour the original price. The manager herself had no record on her system of our original reservation that we could cross-reference (yet the hotel clearly must have had some record otherwise she wouldn't have been expecting us). She made reference to child supplements yet there was no reference or explicit pre-condition in their Terms on their Booking.com site to the quoted price not being an "all-in" price nor are there now from what I can see. The only reference is to the Eur 1 per person city tax. Besides, when you book through Booking.com you specify the number of children with you. The manager knew we had two children with us as only two of the four bunk beds were made up. It is normal that mistakes and errors can happen at any time. Equally there may have been some small print that I'd overlooked when booking. However my efforts to calmly establish the facts were constantly thwarted by the manager's simple refusal then reluctance to accept the facts as were presented to her. It was so disappointing that such a wonderful experience was spoilt but such appalling customer service at the very end. I sincerely hope for the hotel's sake that it was just a case of one individual getting it horribly wrong and not a systemic hotel policy to not honour Booking.com pricing and charge customers different than quoted rates without any presentation of evidence to justify their stance.
Very comfortable and interesting room. Quiet and small. Great location. Very good breakfast. Staff very nice
Need to pay cash- do not accept credit cards
Beautiful building, spacious, clean tidy rooms. Children well catered for. Luxurious rooms. Modern bathrooms and shower.
Our room was slightly masculine rather than soft and cosy as I was told some of the rooms were. But it is a tiny gripe.
Staff, style, decor and location. Owner was lovely and welcoming. Great breakfast room.
Noisy with window open at night and no aircon. Only takes cash payment a surprise.
Having to leave :( perfect hostess offering quality surroundings and a friendly helpful service
Very smart appartment with amazing bathroom and excellent location. Breakfast excellent as well.
The room was beautiful.
Our room faced the street. extremely noisy from the heavy traffic and restaurant goers. The lack of air conditioning made our stay very uncomfortable due to the warm weather. Fans were not provided We felt as if we were trespassing in someones private home. Not the welcome greeting we were hoping for. We were not told about the wine cellar or any of the available facilities. Booking.com should make it clear that late check in needs to be pre arranged. We were scolded for arriving at 8:30PM. Breakfast was minimal.
Fantastic location, lovely town and the room was nice.
Maybe it is just the language barrier but felt it was a distinctly frosty welcome. They don't take cards so need to make sure you have cash.
Everything. Good location to explore Beaune. Spotless and clean and very welcoming. Great interior decor.
Clean, spacious and contemporary feel to accommodation with a good mix of old architecture with modern decor and facilities.
Breakfast was sparse and quality of fair was poor given cost. Owner was polite but lacked warmth of host welcoming you into her home.
A very small, but wonderful decoratet little hotel with only 5 rooms. The owner is very helpful with all the questions about the city etc. To calm down in the evening: drink a glas of wein in the atrium, is just a beautiful.
lovely location. cute balcony. very artsy. Nice but scant breakfast
owner seemed to find her guests to be quite an imposition...she always seemed irritated if we had a question or request. We felt we were intruding into her home while in the public spaces. No room cleaning, linen changes or garbage take out (this didn't matter as there were no garbage cans in the room either) even for multi day visits
Location was close to attractions. Room was spacious and clean.
Had a somewhat sterile feel. Wasn't warm and inviting like many B & B's are.
The room was massive and comfortable for two people. Felt really safe.
The stinger at the conclusion of your stay when the owner says - only cash! And the hallways are incredibly loud - always woken when someone walks past. Owner not very welcoming... We arrived at midday and she was a-gasp that we weren't there for an only acceptable 4pm check in - that's far too late for a one night stay when check out is at 11am!
Beautifully appointed, central accommodation and very welcoming hostes.
Nothing all good.
No credit card and in the holtel by 7 pm. Owner not friendly and not welcoming. Should be in another line of business.
I loved that it was across the street from Old Town. The hostess was sweet. Our room on the third floor was more like an apartment - a big living room, huge bathroom and very large bedroom. Very modern and very clean.
No elevator - had to carry heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs.
The location was great and the off site parking was not a problem. The rooms were huge, quirky and very very clean. The owner, and her son, were efficient, professional and charming. Nothing was a problem for them. Breakfast was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit.
We had forgotten that we needed to pay in cash, normally not a problem but we were there on Friday night and hadn't taken too much cash with us. Fortunately all was okay, but given the room rate, worth every penny, it would be a help to be able to pay by card.
