I liked everything.
Beyond my expectations!
Bleu Pourpre is located about 20 minutes drive from downtown Aix en Provence, and just across the street from the bus station Aix aux Milles where buses pass every 15 min or so, going to downtown, Marseille airport and many other destinations.
The hotel and ancillary facilities are newly renovated. The room are motel-type (access to each room is from the terrace, which I find excellent because it eliminates carpeted, smelly corridors). Every room has a theme. I stayed in the room with a budist theme and one of my colleagues got the room with an African theme, which is a sort of a suite (the bathroom is located upstairs, having two compartments - shower area separated from the rest). That room includes a huge comfortable bed, a suspended rotating TV (one can sit on bed and watch TV or turn the TV and watch it from the sofa).
My room had the same big, comfortable bed.The mattress was comfortable, the linen very clean. The rooms are furnished with AC and a mini bar. To my delight, the rooms are hardwood and not carpeted. Free wi-fi inlcuded.
Breakfast was not included in the price of accommodation. Breakfast is 8.00 euro. Although not great variety, the buffer includes cereal, cold meat and hard cheese, juices, yogurt, excellent French patissery (e.g. croissants), tea, coffee.
Lunch and dinner is served and the food is better than in the restaurants in downtown Aix en Provence. Both the indoor restaurant and the outdoor area destined for serving food are spacious. When is hot, water is sprayed (aerosol) from sprinklers installed above each table to cool the atmosphere.
The premises include an outdoor pool with an estrada where music is played and where events can be hosted.
The owner is an excellent person, vey kind and helpful and so is the rest of the staff. They would do anything to make your stay pleasant.
