The house is beautiful, the owner Madam Monic was very lovely. We really enjoyed breakfast, the table was set beautifully with nice china, really felt like stepping back in time. Located across from the Cathedral in Bayeaux and very closed to the free car park. Easy access in and out of the city, and at walking distance of all the museums, restaurants and cafes. Definetly will go back!

The location of Le Castel was excellent for a good look around Bayeaux. It was very clean and tidy. Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room and also a blind at the bathroom window would not go amiss.

Lovely building, very clean and well-maintained, and the owner was also really nice. Staying here was a nice contrast to staying at a hotel - felt like a real French home, rather than just a place to stay. The location was also great, being a few minutes walk from both the train-station, and the Bayeux tapestry. Guided 'Overlord' tours of Normandy also depart from nearby.

The hotel looks like a small castle! The interior design is very nice and the hostess that received us was very friendly and helpful. Though I don't expect her to speak English. The hotel is located near the Bayeux cathedral and the Tapestry museum, they serve continental breakfast for additional price, but it is ok. We liked everything, but for travellers who don't speak Frent it might be difficult to communicate with the hostess.

Madame is very friendly and the breakfast excellent. Very hand for all the main attractions of Bayeux. Near to most of the best restaurants and the train station. Were on the top floor with no lift!! So a bit of a 'Schlep' with luggage.

My husband and I stayed at Le Castel, Noble Guesthouse in Bayeux for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the third floor (there's no elevator), simple but nicely decorated. The location was excellent---walking distance from the train station, very close to the town center, the cathedral was right in front of the house. We did a full- day tour of D-Day, which we enjoyed very much. We visited the tapestry museum the next day. There were many little restaurants in town. We really liked "Le Petite Normand" restaurant near the guesthouse. Pre-fixed dinner was 15,5 euros and their apple cake was delicious!

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Location for olde Bayeux and all the Normandy WWII sites was perfect. Price was reasonable. Room 2 was the best of the facility with a balcony, large bedroom, and large bathroom. My buddy had the small room (#4) at the top of the stairs which was OK for a single individual or 2 kids. The skeleton door keys were cool but we had to fumble with them to make them work.

It's an unusual hotel being very much a private house as well as a hotel. Madame is a feature and while initially seeming quite imposing turned out to be helpful and enthusiastic given her lack of English. It was a real experience. Good breakfast. Close to the town centre and a walk to all we wanted to see in Bayeux. Madame can be imposing but go with the flow and you will warm to her as we did.

The lady who ran the guesthouse was charming and friendly. The hotel was in a perfect place, really near to the Bayeux Tapestry, Cathedral and town centre. The hotel was relaxed and the rooms were all lovely and a bit quirky in decor. Nothing.

We stayed here overnight to visit Bayeux, and its extraordinary tapestry and superb new museum. Madame was welcoming and our large room and exotic tiled bathroom were clean and comfortable.- with a wonderful view of the cathedral. Le Castel is well located to explore the town.Anne & Michael- Fremantle, Australia N/A

Our bedroom was small, but entirely adequate, and the bathroom was huge with all the amenities we needed. The shower door closed completely - a rarity for France. We had wifi in our room. Our hostess was charming, the downstairs beautifully decorated, and the dog friendly. Easy walking distance to the cathedral and the tapestry. Free parking quite close. We would return. Be warned there is no elevator, true in most older places, but walking up and down steps exercises away all the good French bread.

I was able to get a really great deal for 2 of us in the low season of 50 Euro/night....this equaled to the same for each of us for a hostel in Paris! It was a super wonderful, clean, quiet space. Everything is exactly as you would like. We never ate breakfast there in the mornings, although this is an option for an extra 6.50 Euro. The lady who welcomed us was extremely helpful and nice ... although French is her only language, we still managed to communicate! Nothing.

Staff was very friendly and gave great advice on places to eat and visit. Bathroom was immaculately clean and had an enormous walk in shower, plus a heated towel rack that made us feel we were in the lap of luxury. Breakfast could have included more types of food; this was a B&B and it would have been nice to have scrambled eggs and sausage. However the coffee was the best I had in France and the yogurt and granola was delicious.

Madame was absolutely the perfect host, leaving us alone enough to not be rude, but interacting when comfortable and appropriate to do so. The house is her home and is simply lovely. It's close to the shops in Bayeux, the Landing Beaches and a dozen other different attractions/places of interest. the food in Bayeux was varied and value for money and the locals were very welcoming and friendly. All in all, Le Castel is the perfect place to stay in Normandy, whether you're a first time visitor or a veteran of France. That we couldn't stay longer!

The room we had was out of a magazine. The perfect "French cottage" and it was truly delightful. Clean, large, quaint, and truly French. I began to speak French and I don't speak French. Go Figure, but it was delightful. Well worth the money. This is a small criticism, but it needs to be mentioned. Our host did not speak any English at all and she did not try at all. I asked a couple of simple questions in English and my fleeting French and she launched into detailed answers in French without regard to whether we understood or not. She could have tried harder because I am certain that most of her clients were English speaking. Also, she had a dog and she held us responsible for her stupid dog running out the door. She chewed me out once for this and I didn't like it. If she is worried about her dog, this is her problem. We did like her, but her lack of English (zero percent) and her dog issues were annoying.

Madame is charming and friendly. She does not speak English, but I speak limited French and we were able to communicate effectively. Our room was lovely and perfectly adequate. It was quite simple (5 min) to walk from the train station, and also walk all about Bayeux. There was nothing I did not like about our stay!

It's a good location, walking distance to everything (to town or from the train station). The rooms are newly remodeled and have easy outside access. For one or two nights it would be fine, but I wouldn't recommend staying there much longer than that. The staff have very limited English, but just for lodging that should not be an issue. The twin bed in my room wasn't the most comfortable. But, for one night in a very small town it was fine.
