Le Castelet des Alpilles6, place Mireille, 13210 Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (Show map) Good, Score from 113 reviews“Room is spacious with panaromic view of Alpilles. Fine breakfast with bacon, ham, salami and egg in beautiful floral garden. The homemade jam of abricot is marvellous and delicious for all kinds of bread.”

This hotel is located 330 yards from the center of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. This beautiful Provençal village remained very attached to a rich past and traditions. Le Castelet des Alpilles is an ancient large impressive house dating from the beginning of the 19th century. It became a hotel in 1952 and has been managed by the same family for 3 generations. You can relax on deck chairs in the vast garden by the shade of a hundred- year-old cedar tree. Hotel Rooms: 19

Le Castelet was great. Definitely three + stars. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the fact that the rooms were made up early so we could have afternoon siestas. Private parking was a bonus. The hotel is in a big mansion, well preserved, just on the edge of St Remy. Easy to walk to centre of town (5 minutes). Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would return without hesitation.

Excellent location. Charming hotel. Clean rooms. Lack of elevator makes it hard to carry heavy suitecases. Though carpet was clean, tile floors are always cleaner.

We very much liked our room and the 2 lovely salons, open to all guests. The breakfast room was large and opened upon the spacious and attractive hotel grounds. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I can think of no criticism that I could make. This hotel is a fine value for its rates and we definitely would return.

Location of the hotel was is within walking distance to the restaurants and shops in town. Our room was a good size and with a nice balcony overlooking the mountains. Our bed was comfortable, and the room had air- conditioning and flat-screen television. We liked the fact that there was secure parking. We thought the breakfast was expensive for what it was. The hotel is in needed of refurbishment.

Very kind staff. They kindly told me the nearby restaurants which served provance dishes and checked the time table of the bus and advised our schedule of the next day. The bathroom didn't have shower curtain, however it was no problem as it was large enough.

We really liked being able to walk into town, where we had dinner every night after sight-seeing in the various Provence towns/cities. Our room was quite nice and spacious, with a balcony and air conditioning. We had breakfast there only once, but it was a pretty nice breakfast. We also liked that there was a free parking lot on site, which was very helpful after a full day of running around. A few things were disappointing to us..... 1) on two out of five mornings, we didn't have enough hot water for showers. One of those mornings we had no hot water at all, and we were told that they had had a problem but that they took care of it. The following day was fine, but we also had very little hot water on our last morning. 2) the television in our room wasn't working properly for much of our stay. It wasn't that big a problem, since it was all in French anyway, but it should have worked properly. 3) the internet signal was extremely weak in our room, and would drop completely frequently. It probably was better in the breakfast room downstairs, but it was advertised to work throughout the hotel, and it really didn't work very well.

We enjoyed hiking in the Alpilles walking directly from the hotel. We loved the view of the mountains from our room. We did not sit in the patio garden that was so pretty as it was too windy. The breakfast was too expensive at 10 Euros therefore we did not eat at the hotel.

The location in St Remy is perfect with free parking and the ability to leave your car and walk where ever you want to go in town. The views from the rooms over the terra cotta roof tops and olive trees out to the Apilles are lovely and the windows open widely to let the fresh breezes in. Staff is very helpful and the breakfast was very good. When my husband became quite ill late one night the staff located an English speaking doctor very quickly to come to our room. Very good service and greatly appreciated.

Charming old world hotel well situated within walking distance of the centre of Saint Remy. The accommodation was roomy and the staff were welcoming. There is good private parking which is scarce in this area. The television service did not include any English speaking news channels and the hot-spot wi-fi was not available in certain rooms although effective in the common areas.

It is truly an "old world' hotel..with roomy, spacious balconied rooms. We loved having a sunny balcony with a view of the Alpilles for a glass of wine at the end of a day of tripping to nearby villages. It is indeed an excellent location if you have a car for daytrips throughout the Luberon. Breakfast is a fresh & ample buffet and served in a sunny old breakfast room or in the garden patio. Free parking and WiFi access add to the ammenities. The women at the front desk were so very helpful and pleasant! We would not hesitate to recommend this small hotel to our friends!
