Very friendly family, wonderful quiet setting (if a little difficult to find). Four of us stayed in the cottage with 2 young children which was ideal. Enjoyable breakfast around a large table in impressive house.
We stayed at Le Chateau de la Brosse as a stopover on our way further south. It was a very peaceful location, the staff were friendly and helpful and it made a nice change from a stop at a hotel near the motorway. We stayed in a cottage close to the Chateau, which was clean and quiet and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was continental, basic but fine with some nice home made jams on offer. All in all a lovely place to stay.
There could have been a bit more variety for breakfast.
We were made to feel part of the family in this lovely old building. Room was very large and nicely furnished.

Charming place. Chateau was gorgeous, along with the grounds. Cottage was a good size property. Clean bedding & towels. Breakfast had an ok selection of food & drink. Hosts were really nice & friendly.
Cottage could do with an update & freshen up. Smelt a bit damp. Plug sockets were dubious with some hanging off the wall. Shower head bracket cracked, so had to hold the shower head.
I loved the whole chateau, small and charming, really lovely owners who were very helpful. The chateau is beautiful and interesting but definitely slightly faded glory which made it charming but wonderful new shower rooms
no door between bathroom and bedroom - please put up a curtain if not adoor!, Not good access for the disabled as 2 flights of circular stairs, but overall utterly charming
Very informal and homely atmosphere. The mansion is superbly located with lots of space for children to play and for adults to rest. The owners Carolina and Frederique are great hosts that make you feel very welcome. If you like informal, you' ve found the perfect place. If you like 5 star luxury, you'll be disappointed.
The giant room The garden The family
The 'open' toilet The shabbiness The bad Path to the chateau
Very friendly and accommodating and made us feel very relaxed and welcome.
the owners were very friendly and made us at home. the house and gardens were both lovely and we enjoyed our stay very much. we would be happy to recommend and would be happy to return ourselves.
there was nothing to find fault with.
When you stay here you become one of the family, nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle, rural peace and quiet.
Owners are very attentive, the house is really fascinating. I would recommend to young family who likes to vist countrysides, therefores appreciates all the natural things.
Family home, very friendly spoke English. Lovely setting in countryside peaceful, good for flat walks. Served cold food/omelettes sometimes do meals not walking distance to restaurants.
Great place to stay. Very friendly hosts.
We were looking for a quiet place to stop over with our 2 year old son. This place was perfect as it was peaceful and had lots of space. Our son was also able to play on the trampoline and see the horses. We hired the 2 bedroom house which was ideal for a noisy toddler - he had his own room and could make as much noise as he wanted without disturbing the other guests. We had a nice meal in the evening with home made pizzas and a continental breakfast in the morning. The family were really friendly and made us feel at home. They also spoke good English.
No criticisms - it was a great place to stay. I wouldnt expect a party zone - this is very isolated and suited to those who want a quiet place to stay in the countryside
Very friendly host and hostess Ideal for families with kids
I would say that this hotel is a little bit more bed and breakfast type accommodation than traditional hotel. There is no reception or anything like that, you are staying in the owners home. That said it is a lovely country house in the most peaceful setting. If you want quiet then you will find it here. The nearest village is a 10 minute drive so factor that in if you have not eaten anything. The hosts are very nice and very helpful and the breakfast is easily the best I have ever had when staying in France.
It is a bit of a challenge to find the place and I think the property is going through some long term maintenance but don't let that put you off, it is a beautiful house run by a very helpful couple. I would stay there again at any time.
We only stayed one night in one of their cottages. The family were very friendly and went the extra mile to make us welcome.Very peaceful and lovely surroundings. They gave us a fantastic breakfast with everything fresh.Highly recommended .
This place is not what you see on the description. Firstly, it is not sign posted in Brinay at all, thus finding it is almost impossible. The place is dirty and poorly equipt. The toilet in our room was coming off its base, there was no soap to wash hands and no toiletries at all, despite what it says in the description. The service, provided by the owners was very poor, we had to ask for clean cutlerries and milk and were left to get on by ourselves pretty much most of our stay. There was no swimming pool and heating unlike promised in the advert.
Beautiful rustic house. family comfortable
bathroom not en suite as described. little dusty
