Le Chatellier  

Our chambre was very clean, comfortable & well-appointed. The bath was very clean with elegant, modern fixtures and nice towels. The breakfast buffet had an array of good pastries & bread, fruit, cheese, cold cuts, and hot bacon & eggs -- & more. Myriam & her staff were quite kind and helpful. Dinner was excellent -- with a number of good cheeses.

There was efficient reception and the food and service was of a very high standard. I hope my "complaints" below are taken in the right way and not merely as complaints. They are purely to try to be helpful as I can see a lot is being done to get the place up and running and you really do deserve success.

We felt the room was rather small for the description or class of room and there was difficulty in finding the reception due to the extended buildings and confusing road entrance. We appreceiate the difficulties when there are so many buildings but still think the notices could be more explicit. Unfortunately we did not find the blinds for the small room with the sofa bed until the morning so suggest that when guests are shown their room the electric controls are pointed out when they are shwon their room.. ...... You'll get there ok! Good luck

Lovely Room with separate annex that proved ideal for the travel cot, and a separate lounge area next door so we could sit and read etc whilst baby was sleeping. Lovely grounds, our son particularly enjoyed seeing the goats and Ducks that live in the grounds. The food was simply exquisite. Marvellously presented and exceptionally tasty. Half board was wonderful, although a number of the dishes had supplements. Breakfast was a combination of traditional French, Scrambled eggs, cheese, pastries, cereals and fruit.

Staying at Le Chatellier but having the half board dinner at les duets florets (the restaurant linked to their other hotel about 100m away) as part of the half board, meant that we were unable to put our 19 month old to bed before eating, and he had to join us for dinner. Whilst this in itself wasn't an issue the earliest we could go or food was 7pm, and on average food took 1.5 hours for the 3 courses to come out. This often meant we were having to juggle a tired and grumpy toddler, whilst rushing our dinner so as to minimise the disruption to other guests in a lovely restaurant. Lovely hotel and restaurant, although they were very pleasant it's not really designed to be young child friendly.

Very difficult to find. We had to skip breakfast the day we left because we had to leave by 7am and they didn't start breakfast until 7:30.The room was on the second floor where the roof slanted and restricted the amount of space we could actually use. It was very easy to bump you head when getting out of bed on one side.

The hotel was a gem. Lovely old house and spotless. Stopped here on a cycling holiday and would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable - there is value for money.

While our room was very comfortable, we could not open the windows - we were located on the first floor with a bedroom and alcove - the alcove had a patio door that closed at night and the side windows didn't open. For our meals we had to go to another hotel that appeared to be the same owners

Le cadre est superbe.

La literie est vraiment mauvaise (chambre 14). a changer de toute urgence.

L accueil du personnel est exellent et la situation des lieux ainsi que le cadre est idéal pour une escapade d'un week end voir plus. Ce que nous avons note c'est la prpreté des chambres et la disponibilité du personnel. Le restaurant du manoir mitoyen a ll'hotel propose une carte avec d'exellents produits et le service est remarquable. Nous y retournerons des que possible et nous conseilleront sans reserves a nos amis.

Tout est bien. Le calme dans les chambres, le parc avec les chèvres très sympa et original et la mare avec les canards, oie et poule.

Un reproche pourrait être fait au moment du paiement de la note, car pas de confidentialité. Il faudrait revoir ce point.
