Location & friendliness of staff, particularly Hazel.....would recommend
Was all good ....nothing bad at all !
The owner, Hazel was very attentive, greeted us when we arrived and helped us with some local phone calls and local information. B&B is newly furnished and clean. It is part of the local color and history since it was bombed early in the D day invasion. The location is good since most sites are within 1/2 hour or so. We got a pot of tea at breakfast not just a cup and bag like some provide.
To be honest could not think of anything we did not like.
Staff friendly, good breakfast, nice country side location
Very friendly owner.
From the warm welcome to the final "goodbye" everything went very well. Good evening meal, comfortable room, very peaceful.
Nothing to dislike.
Nice place to stay, verry close to the ferryport.Verry good WIFI.
We missed a chair in the room.To use the laptop you have to sit on the bed.
The welcome was lovely, the house and gardens beautiful. Clean and comfy room- plenty of breakfast - can't fault it -
Very friendly hosts. Delicious food.
Comfortable bed, good evening meal and breakfast
Lack of TV in room
consideration for needs of guests, relaxed atmosphere and great fresh pastries for breakfast!
Really welcoming people that could not do enough for you, absolutely brilliant. Hope to return again at some point.
Everything except the bed
Hazels welcome really made us fell at home. We had a great meal and a wonderful breakfast. I would strongly recommend this b&b.
Great central location for Bayeux, Dday beaches, etc, quiet country house, excellent breakfast and friendly English hosts
French country plumbing wasn't the best, a bit smelly, but tolerable!
Roomy clean well run.Ideal for local ferries
It did not few like the sort of place I would travel a long way to stay for a week. But a really good short stay hotel.
The friendly helpful owner
Lovely hosts. Beautiful bedroom with comfy bed, balcony and bathroom en suite. Nice breakfast - croissants and cheese and meats. Relaxing guest room to sit or watch teli.
Everything about this place is awesome. Hosts are knowledge about the area. Rooms were excellent. A very welcoming place to stay. It deserves 5 stars.
Friendly owners and great location at a very great price
From the greeting that Havel gave us (after the nice email when we booked) to her attention to making sure we knew where to eat and her advice on everything. She was a wonderful host and made us feel like we were relatives. Would recommend Le Clos Castel to everyone
Our stay was too short .
Loved the welcome. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Liked the fact that evening meals were available. Good advice about local amenities. Supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants and markets.
The paint around the skirting board by the en suite door gave an adverse impression of sloppiness and could easily be remedied. The sticking door to the room could also be easily remedied to improve the customers impression.
Comfy bed, handy location to dday beachs, has history. The bar in the barn.
Personal attention, for example being greeted with fresh milk for our room. Very friendly, helpful and a good supper. Tremendous atmosphere for the D-Day commemorations.
Friendliness, overall ambience, catering for both dinner and breakfast, very convenient location
What a find! We were 2 retired couples traveling through Europe coming to see the Normandy region. We had such an enjoyable 2 nights at Le Clos Castel. We had requested dinner the first evening and the Beef Bourguigion was so delicious (full meal with wine, dessert and coffee for an unbelievable 15 euro each), we asked Hazel to make dinner again the next night! So nice to come back to a home-cooked meal after a long day of touring in the cold rain. They invited us into the parlor, turned the fireplace heater on and joined us in a bottle of wine. We loved conversing with them, learning about the Normandy area and of their British heritage, we invited them to share their dinner with us in their dining room making for a wonderful evening. Their home in the countryside, very much accessible to the sites of the area, and nice to get away from all the crowded tourist spots. We did a full loop seeing the landing beaches, Arromanches, and Bayeux in one day. Mont St Michel was a little over an hour south when we exited the next day. The accommodations were great. The bedrooms were spacious, bathrooms spotless (loved the thick soft towels) and a delicious breakfast with the best croissants around, all for a very reasonable price. The warm way Hazel and Steven welcomed us into their home we left knowing we made new friends.
