Great central location for Bayeux, Dday beaches, etc, quiet country house, excellent breakfast and friendly English hosts

French country plumbing wasn't the best, a bit smelly, but tolerable!

From the greeting that Havel gave us (after the nice email when we booked) to her attention to making sure we knew where to eat and her advice on everything. She was a wonderful host and made us feel like we were relatives. Would recommend Le Clos Castel to everyone

Our stay was too short .

Loved the welcome. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Liked the fact that evening meals were available. Good advice about local amenities. Supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants and markets.

The paint around the skirting board by the en suite door gave an adverse impression of sloppiness and could easily be remedied. The sticking door to the room could also be easily remedied to improve the customers impression.

Personal attention, for example being greeted with fresh milk for our room. Very friendly, helpful and a good supper. Tremendous atmosphere for the D-Day commemorations.

What a find! We were 2 retired couples traveling through Europe coming to see the Normandy region. We had such an enjoyable 2 nights at Le Clos Castel. We had requested dinner the first evening and the Beef Bourguigion was so delicious (full meal with wine, dessert and coffee for an unbelievable 15 euro each), we asked Hazel to make dinner again the next night! So nice to come back to a home-cooked meal after a long day of touring in the cold rain. They invited us into the parlor, turned the fireplace heater on and joined us in a bottle of wine. We loved conversing with them, learning about the Normandy area and of their British heritage, we invited them to share their dinner with us in their dining room making for a wonderful evening. Their home in the countryside, very much accessible to the sites of the area, and nice to get away from all the crowded tourist spots. We did a full loop seeing the landing beaches, Arromanches, and Bayeux in one day. Mont St Michel was a little over an hour south when we exited the next day. The accommodations were great. The bedrooms were spacious, bathrooms spotless (loved the thick soft towels) and a delicious breakfast with the best croissants around, all for a very reasonable price. The warm way Hazel and Steven welcomed us into their home we left knowing we made new friends.

I had a wonderful stay here in Mid April. Not only was Le Clos Castel a lovely building, but Hazel and Steve were fine hosts, even picking me up from the local railway station at Carentan, and dropping me there in the morning. The room was ideal and the food lovely. Would definitely like to go back again

Friendly welcome on arrival, good evening meal with wine (a good idea to eat at the Clos due to rural location). Comfy bed, continental dreakfast.

This family run bed and breakfast is excellent. The owners are very friendly and helpful, they put a personnel touch on everything. The Breakfast croissants are the best we ever tried. The location is excellent for site seeing in the region. We highly recommend staying here.

Hazel and Le Clos Castel are both gems! Warm welcome, comfortable, spacious rooms, and a lovely breakfast. Bakery truck delivered fresh croissants while we were sitting down for breakfast. Hazel graciously helped us make a phone call to the US before we got cell phone service set up. Raids is an ideal spot from which to explore Normandy Beaches and Mont St Michel. Wish we could have stayed longer.
