Le Clos D'amboise  

We enjoyed the staff, the service, the location, nice garden sitting area, pool, all w/parking, car is best for wine touring and tasting. Easy walk into town center, to castle, shops, etc. Breakfast started the day off well and all of our questions to the front staff were answered with good information. Their restaurant suggestions were good, the wineries to visit were good suggestions, so the hotel staff pretty much directed us in the right direction. We would stay again if our travels take us in this direction. Hotel was quite in the evening, yet just a short walk into the center of town. If you need a bottle of wine for the evening they have available to purchase on site.

Everything was perfect for us. Our junior suite was quite roomy with a couch and coffee table sitting area and desk. The structure is an old totally charming mansion with a good sized garden area to sit outside and sip drinks. The swimming pool is in an adjacent spot. The staff was extremely helpful and assisted us greatly in locating a house to rent for a year. They took a real interest in the purpose of our trip and did everything they could to facilitate our quest. They speak enough English so communication was easy. I also appreciated the free computer usage, although they do have WIFI if you bring your own. All in all, the stay at Clos D'amboise could not have been more enjoyable.

Our overnight stay was one of the best we have ever experienced. Friendly efficient family staff who made you feel at home in their wonderful boutique hotel. Fantastic location in Amboise having everything within walking distance. We have already planned a second stay with them.

Just had a lovely refined vibe and the breakfast was absolutely lovely.

The staff who greeted us on arrival was very friendly & helpful & spoke excellent English. The room we stayed in was a converted stable, I think & was very comfortable and at the front of the property. Despite this it was very quiet & we didn't have much noise from the road or other guests. We appreciated the off street parking, but you wouldn't want to have a big car.

Incredible property and gardens, rooms are impecably decorated with period furnishings. Breakfast room staffed , and very comfortable with sofas and small dining settings. Very nice pool and garden area.. Very satisfied and impressed.

Our room wasn't made up on our second day but we did get fresh towels.

This place was like a hidden gem in the middle of town. It was beautiful, very quiet, and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was good. They recently updated the hotel and the rooms were wonderful. For us it was exactly what were thinking when you think a "french" experience. I would go there again in a second.

Everything was great. Would have been nice to have an air conditioner that made the room colder, but it was fine. The only other thing is maybe some choices of pillows. It was really no big deal, but I am particular about my pillows. Its a personal choice, so some may like them. I would have preferred something different.

Le Clos D'Amboise is a charming chateaux in the town of Amboise. It was recently renovated - the rooms, bathrooms and grounds are immaculate. Since the hotel is in Amboise itself, you can walk to dinner and see the sights in Amboise without driving. At the end of a day of touring, my wife and I really enjoy that. If we return to the region, we would definitely stay again.

The room was quaint and decent size.
