If you don't mind slumming it a bit and want friendly, slightly chaotic, but can-do service and save your money for the champagne then come here. It's boxy, a bit dirty, low budget stuff, but the owner is lovely and accommodating and helpful. It's not pretty, it's not modern, it's a bit DIY, but it's comfortable enough. Not the sort of place you want to spend your day in, but that's not why you go to Epernay anyway
The walk to the centre (10minutes at a reasonable pace) gets a np it tedious after a while. But there's a take away pizzeria next door, several boulangeries 5 minutes away and a late-opening convenience store down the road (a particular blessing in a provincial French town on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday!)
It was clean and the wifi worked all right. The chief was a nice person, but didn't know any English word. Bed was all right.
When you pay 50€ for a stay in a hotel in lovely Epernay, you can't expect too much. Toilet in the end of the corridor. There is no restaurant in the building, may be there was a restaurant there earlier. In June it was full of toys, probably belonging to the children of the chief in the hotel. We had breakfast, 5,50€/pers for the poorest breakfast I've ever eaten.
This hotel is family run, friendly hosts and excellent value for money for short-term stay, 3 nights in our case. Short drive to centre ville and all the champagne houses.
Shower in room, but down the corridor for the toilet. But you get what you pay for!!
Extremely helpful owner who didn't have excellent English but helped us out whenever possible. This place was a great deal for a low price but provided comfortable beds, a nice shower and is a short walk from town.
Served the purpose of inexpensive accommodations in Champagne country.
No shower in one of the rooms. Poor lighting, hard to read from one overhead fixture. Few electrical outlets and none near the small table serving as a desk.
The reviews on the hotel are a bit strange, it says there rooms are sound proofed which is already a bit strange but they are 100% not, we could hear everything that was going on in the room next door and in the corridor etc. The room is very basic, need of re decorating and has some damp patches, the room has a shower in the middle of the room, again bit strange but was a good shower.... It's about a 15 min walk to the town centre which is fine by us but nothing going on in the area, no restaurants etc. The reviews said breakfast was amazing, well for €5.50 you get a cup of coffee, 1 croissant, some other bread and some jams, again fine but not amazing by any standards. If your stuck for somewhere to stay then stop by but really don't expect too much.
The building is quite old, but they keep the cleaness. The owner was very kind, no English but we could understand anyway. Bed in the room was absolutely comfy, i had a very good, deep sleep. Veiw from the window was great too.
Very quiet hotel. A bit difficult to find a hotel when arrival. 20 min walk to the city center
Very good value for money. The hotel is suitable for a short stay. It was clean and the staff was nice. It is straitforward to find: 20 min walk from the railway station, I didn't even bother taking the transports.
Really nice owners, free carparking, walking distance to Avenue de Champagne, close to a supermarket, good budget option.
Very much what I expected for the price. Friendly owners. Good croissant at breakfast
A bit of a walk from the city centre
What you see is what you get. No frills , comfy bed and spotless linen. No where to hang your clothes. No chair , Very pleasant owners Good breakfast
The rooms could be a little more customer friendly, and a little more cosy,
lots of space, parking available
could do with an update to the bedding etc
We were the only guests in the hotel. The room we had was recently decorated, the bathroom was new, in fact everything was new. The hotel was still undergoing renovations as we saw some rooms on the first floor looked a lot older. Good breakfast, free parking and free wifi.
Not so much a dislike as a comment, no wardrobe or clothes hanging facility in the room.
