The style of the hotel and individual rooms gave it that Boutique hotel feel. The restaurant was not open to hotel guests and from other reviews, it appears this is a weekly occurance. As the location is outside of the centre, the only option is to pay an expensive taxi fare to go and find alternative restaurants. A bistro meal served in the room was offered but is hardly the dining experience I was looking for! The description in all of the internet sites talks about a gourmet restaurant and spa facilities. Firstly, the gourmet restaurant should clearly state what days you can actually eat there and as for the spa, this seemed to be hidden underground and had to be opened up on request - hardly welcoming. The pool was really a plunge pool, it certainly wasn't big enough to swim in. It was also not open until 10am which is completely useless for a business traveller. Very, very disappointing. There was also no atmosphere even though the hotel has been decorated well and as there were no communal areas or bar open, it was a very basic and disappointing experience. I would certainly not call this a hotel and definitely not the star rating it has. It is a boutique small hotel at best with very limited facilities. The staff tried their best but they did lack the experience and language skills to help customers or give them the warm welcome and information they needed. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. The price was more than I pay in Paris for a fraction of the facilities!!!

Despite of French hotel, you can feel a touch of a cozy international service though they could not serve you a real one. The steam sauna(Hamam) is always out of ordered whenever I visited twice. Young service staff finally escaped and I was left naked inside there which was cooling down. Every Monday is closed at all the restaurant in Rennes and it was not explained. There are much better hotel in Rennes from where you can visit much better restaurants in Rennes. Steam bath has been always out of order whenever I have visited. They always told me this happened for the 1st time but it is not true.

The staff tried hard to accomodate us. They were very friendly and msot spoke some English. Nothing about this hotel meets aceptable standards. It is apologetic about being a hotel so hides all facilities, reception and staff so it does not look like a hotel. Our room was small and was all in grey and black with poor lighting. It had as must charm as a railway waiting room. All furniture was cheap and a table was broken. A request for a ketlle to make tea took staff 45 mins to find one. The shower room was poorly laid out with a seperate toilet (but no hand basin near it) There were no range of toiletries. Ligthing was impossible. Hardly any natural light. We were shown 2 other rooms we could have moved to but these were smaller still and had only a bath and no shower. They were slightly more attractive but not much. There is a resturant of sorts but it has only one set meal. I think if you asked for something different they would do it but a few clues of possibilities would be nice. Breakfast was ordinary and it took 15 mins to get coffee even though there was only 2 other people in the room when we were. No refills were offerred. No staff were in sight. Overall this is a very overpriced motel suitable for a quick nights sleep and move on fast. 2 star level except in the staff , if you could find them.
