눉I know this hotel is only 2 star, but I still expect certain basic amenities to be provided, such as effective plumbing and sockets, to charge your appliances (phones and tablets). The plumbing for the shower and face basin was awful. Water in the shower would drain away very slowly which meant that when showering you were standing in dirty water and soap scum and, after brushing your teeth the face basin remained dirty unless you stood there for a few minutes afterwards slowing rinsing it out in an effort to leave it clean for the next person (there were 3 of us in this room). After making a complaint about the problem, the solution was to take the plug out of the bath (sorry but that is not the solution - your pipes are blocked). Also when another guest used his or her bathroom, we were subjected to the entire experience. The wiring was a joke, with a plug on the wall next to the light switch with nowhere close to rest your appliances, so unless your appliances came with unusually long cords, this option for charging was useless. We finally found a second socket after crawling around on our knees and looking under the beds and desks, not such a good idea as the carpets were not particularly clean. Finally, even though Lille was cold, three persons in a bedroom can cause a room to get stuffy and leaving the window open was not an option as anyone could climb in from the adjacent room/apartment as there were no burglar bars(we were in room 112); leading to uncomfortable nights' sleep. We had been on a two week jaunt to Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and this was our last stop before London. It was, sadly, the only poor choice we made.
