Very friendly hosts, well furnished rooms and kitchen, quite location, close to the main castles.

Our Hosts Anna & Richard were so helpful and lovely. The cottage was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated in a classic French design. We had everything we needed. Great location to all the Chateaux and we had the feeling of living in the country. We got to see things you wouldn't have if you booked into a hotel in a town. We have children aged 3 and 4 and they loved living in a cave. Our hosts were very child friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Living in a cave has a bit of a damp smell but we realise that can't be helped and it was an experience. Not having wifi. These are only minor points that we mention in case they are important to other travellers. We wouldn't hesitate in coming here again.

Owners, Anna & Richard are very friendly and offered to help us often. Would return or recommend to friends.

Very friendly and welcoming owners; Anna & Richard and also their dog Buddha. The cave was spacious and well designed - better than the pictures! Great location in the centre of the Loire Valley. The children loved staying in the cave with the fire roaring. The bathroom was huge; big tub and good shower. Note: turn left, definitely not right on rue Aitre des Gauthiers.

My daughter and I stayed in the one bedroom cottage for two nights and found it to be delightful, full of character with so many beautiful little details. A very peaceful place to relax at the end of the day with lovely view. Anna was a very friendly, helpful hostess who made us feel very welcome and was kind enough to post to us some belongings we left there.

Have to say it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The presentation of the place exceded our expectation. You could just see how hard they have worked on this mountain side to bring the ordinary mountain side to a beautiful place. They also have a good supermarket which is only 5 minutes drive. They had a great selection of seafodd which we were super happy about. If we had a chance, we would definitely choose this play for sure.

Room heaters are not satisfactory, for winter. Would be more convenient if there's a small cafe or brassiere at the resort. Perhaps a small gym.

Location was excellent and owners very friendly. Cosy and Classy!

No wifi

We had a wonderful stay in every respect. Anna and Richard are gracious hosts. Anna was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. She recommended wineries to visit, made dinner reservations for us at a local restaurant, (and translated the menu!) and was always available to answer our questions. The gites are amazing.Quaint, spacious, elegantly decorated, and so unique. We had a wonderful view of the valley, and were conveniently located to a grocery store. It was a short drive, or bike ride to charming villages, good restaurants, vineyards, and amazing castles. Tours, a lovely city was only 15-20 minutes away. We couldn't recommend Le Lavoir Du Coteau more highly.

Le Lavoir is a supreme location, very peaceful. The rooms are very well decorated. Hostess Anna has done a fine job and is very friendly. We hope to return.

This place is amazing. Anna (the owner) welcomed us with open arms on our arrival. Our cottage was inside a cave, clean, comfortable and done up to the highest standards. We made the most of the free bikes on offer visiting the local vineyards and caves. The locals were very helpful and kind and the challenge of communicating with them made it all the better. We used the local bus which came nearly every hour to visit Tours which is like any other European city. Pubs, restaurants, beautiful buildings. The food in Tours is like none we've tasted, especially in Mao restaurant. Definitely will be recommending this place to friends and family..

A unique accommodation option that was lots of fun for the family - especially our 2 young boys. Our host, Anna, could not have been more helpful, although the cottage we had, Le Peacher, was very private with it's own courtyard and terrace. And all this with the major chateux an easy drive away.

The location, although just off a main roadway, is pretty remote - I can't imagine being able to get there without a car.

This is a very unique place, and the caves are done in a way that maintains enough of the atmosphere without giving up comforts. The owners are extremely nice and helpful.

The chateau was very unique. The rooms were large and fit four adults very nicely. The hosts were very accommodating. Would recommend this location for a very nice stay.

Living in a cave which is perfectly modern equipped is just an outstanding experience. The warm-heartedly very friendly hosts managed to create a fascinating symbiosis of a stone cage and a comfortable, cosy interior realised by a modern kitchen, designer furniture and a lovely fireplace. It was a totally marvellous stay, extraordinary and pleasant.

Anna is a delightful host who welcomed us most graciously and made us feel at home in our lovely cottage-in-a-cave. The accommodation is quite unique but completely comfortable, spacious and perfectly equipped. We were able to cook our own meals and enjoy the patio after a day of seeing chateaux and wineries. The location is great--right next door to Vouvray where the wine-tasting opportunities are endless, and within easy driving of Amboise, Chenonceau, etc. Anna speaks English well and was available for information on the area. Her energy and eagerness to provide whatever was needed for our stay were most endearing. All in all, a perfect Loire valley experience.

We stayed in Le Pecher Cottage. It was amazing because it was such a different experience for us. The cottage was spacious and luxurious, and the decor was typically French without being 'over the top'. Anna, the owner, was extremely gracious and friendly, and willing to share aspects of the history of the buildings. We had a small taste of the troglodite experience, and enjoyed it immensely. We also enjoyed the 'village experience' - quiet, personal and private - a part of France we had been looking forward to. Of course, the proximity of the numerous chateaux in the area was another positive. They are very easy to get to if you have a car, and there is a bus that you catch in the village, which goes to Tours, and/or Amboise (the chateau where Leonardo da Vinci is reputed to be buried). Overall, a fantastic part of our holiday.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Wonderful experience staying in a two bedroom cave! Very comfortable. CLean, everything worked, comfortable sleeping. I was concerned it would be cool and damp, but it was neither. A pellet stove kept the whole apartment cozy. The view of the French counryside is beautiful. Very relaxed and quaint. also very quiet. Best part was the onwer, Anna. She was a real sweetheart. Extremely willing to please, friendly, easy going. Can't say enough good things about her, and the Le Lavoir Du Coteau! Will definitely go again someday and will encourage friends to do the same.

The roosters a couple of residences down from the Le Percher cottage were pretty loud and excitable sometimes. Parking is a bit challenging for anything but a small compact car.

The owner is very professional and caring. The place is beautiful, we took the dog for walks, he was ready to go, and the owner was nice enough to let us take him for the walk. I highly recommend this place.

очень уютное, тихое место для людей, перемещающихся на машине (расположено немного в отдалении от центра). это двухэтажные аппартаменты с полным набором всего необходимого для проживания вне дома (кухня: холодильник, микроволновка, плита, кофеварка, чайник, кострюли, посуда, стиральная машина, в общем все, что нужно), первый этаж - гостиная с кухонной зоной и камином, музыкальным центром, на второй этаж ведет лестница, второй этаж - просторная спальня с санузлом за ширмой, телевизором и удобной кроватью. вся обстановка выполнена по-домашнему, с любовью и вниманием. очень милая, доброжелательная, радушная хозяйка анна. а какой там воздух и как поют птицы по утрам!!!!!

в одном из отзывов указано про туалет, отделенный шторкой. это, конечно, непривычно и необычно, но действительно - не смущает!
