Our room was nice but the gathering room on the main floor was wonderful. We meet other travelers around a beautiful fireplace.
Restaurant excellent. Proximity to Normandy beeches excellent Old style Hotel with superb history in photographs adorning the walls. Staff very helpful and accepting of my cycling needs. Hope to return
Having been a regular visitors 25 years ago, it was a much anticipated return and we were not disappointed. Hotel and restaurant still as good as ever.
Absence of elevator and quite a climb if you are on the 3rd floor.
This is an old hotel in an ideal location. The sitting room was comfortable and interesting with its historic photos.Breakfast was excellent and served at a reasonable time,
The room was badly in need of decoration.Cracked tiles on bathroom floor.Paint peeling off radiator. Very difficult to fill bath as plug not working properly. Separate toilet was nice but there was no sink so had to walk back through bedroom to wash hands .General impression for price paid poor.I would not return
location, restaurant, room size, breakfast, guest history, courtyard
rooms are slightly tired, dinner at restaurant was good but very expensive
Great location in the centre of town. Desk staff were very pleasant.
The rooms are very expensive for the standard of the hotel.
Excellent welcome by staff, which continued during stay. They were helpful too. Beds were comfortable . Food excellent.
It was not easy to access. although there were signs, the road indicated was closed. Although parking had been requested, there was "none available", despite spaces in the car parking area!
We loved the room the town, the helpfulness of the staff, the friendliness of town.
Parking was hard, but the staff made arrangements that we could park in the courtyard because we had to leave early in the morning.
Old bathroom and toilette. Only one chair in the room.
Charming hotel with lots of personality that had clean and modern bedrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Not a problem for us, but FYI there is no elevator.
Excellent location for coast & all historical sites . Friendly staff & lovely atmosphere.
Good food at breakfast.Comfortable and quiet room.
Coffee at breakfast was not freshly made so did not taste too good!
Location is excellent and we walked both into the town and to several of the attractions from here. We had a great meal in the restaurant which although it wasn't cheap was very good and was a comparable price with similar restaurants elsewhere, but there are numerous cheaper places within a very short distance. The same goes for breakfast. As has been said by others the photos in the bar are really worth a look and as we were visiting some of the D Day museums added an extra enjoyment.
Located in the heart of Bayeax. You enter through a small gate on the Main Street, which opens into a courtyard for parking and restaurant dining. This little hotel has had many famous guests over the years. Great service, wonderful staff.
The 3 story climb to our room but this also adds character to the hotel.
expensive drinks-no house wine
The hotel is perfectly situated to tour Normandy and the beaches. The town is lovely with many places to eat or have a coffee. The staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. While the bedrooms were a little long in the tooth, they were comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were newly renovated. Great shower pressure and hot water! A great value!
Location was great , staff were extremely helpful , restaurant served a delicious meal
I am so glad that I contacted the hotel ahead of time to reserve a parking space for our rental car. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would also recommend that you ask the hotel staff to make dinner reservations for you at a restaurant in the town. They had great recommendations but we needed reservations as it was peak season.
The location and history of the hotel was great.
The maid was extremely rude to me after I had gone to the desk and checked out and gone back to the room to get a couple bags about 5 minutes after check out time. She laid into me in French which I do not speak. Apparently having to wait a few minutes to clear the room was a big problem for her.
Lifts to the third floor would have been helpfull
Really like e location of the hotel with respect to Bayeux. A great experience.
The room was over the bar area and was a bit noisy.
Eisenhower stayed here, John Wayne stayed here, Tom Hanks stayed here.
Avoid dinner in the dining room--probably very good but more expense than the other places we ate.
Its location was excellent for a short stay in Bayeaux and visit to the tapestry. It is an interesting old hotel which has played host to some pretty famous people
The continental breakfast was mingy and you had to sit in the bar not in the dining room. A bit mean I thought.
