Nice place, friendly staff, comfortable room It's in the middle of nowhere, the breakfast was too expensive for what it was.

After staying at a hotel in downtown Marseille, we wanted something a little bit away from the city as we continued on to Aix-en-Provence. Le Mas des Ecureuils fit the bill nicely. You have to drive up a long narrow driveway/road to reach it, and it is surrounded by nature...very tranquil. Food in the on-site restaurant was quite good, although breakfast was just average (no eggs and no sausage or bacon, just cold cuts). The room was pleasant, although we would have liked a bit better quality mattress on the bed. Overall, it had nice facilities, including an outdoor pool and a sauna (hammam) Free on- site parking was another plus. The wi-fi was free but kept going in and out, and it was annoying to have to re-log on every time you wanted to use it.

Liked the surrounds and the view from the room. The pool was nice. Position was good - in the country setting but not far from Aix en provence. The room was light with large windows and we were able to check in early. The room furnishings were dated, the carpet had a wet patch and was grubby and the bed coverings not clean enough. The room had only plastic cups and tea provisions very scant. Room was cramped for a family of four.

Nice location and beautiful landscape The restaurant was closed as there was a party in the afternoon. A shame as the menu looks very good.

Good location outside town, in a pleasant scenario. Family run hotel, very familiar atmosphere The owner told me that restaurant was closed on sunday, but I saw other guests being served dinner at the terrace... While I sat there waiting to be served. Despite being in a quiet area, you could listen the traffic from the nearby highway. Owners know no other language than french

We had a lovely stay here with our three young kids. They loved the swimming pool and it felt really peaceful set in the woods. The restaurant was good and we had a relaxing stay.

Location is mixed. The hotel and immediate surroundings are great - nested in pine tress with amacks... but the hotel is a hike from downtime or shoppings. The breakfast was really average. The croissant were certainly not "fresh". The ham was supermarket type and the cheese was indivudually wrapped. Kind of sad to charge 13 Euros for that type of food. Too bad because the service/staff are great and the setting is wonderful.

Although rather close to the city centre of Aix, the location of Le Mas des Ecureuils is very relaxing and quiet. Especially if one is looking for just a relaxing stay the environment of Le Mas des Ecureuils is very convenient. Though the dinner facilities and daily menu are very value for money oriented, I would appreciate more variety in the breakfast composition. I explain myself: during our stay of 7 days the food of the breakfast was each day similar to the previous day and limited in food variety. Honestly, I do not recognize the value for money in particular for breakfast.

The pool & restaurant are located in a beautiful natural setting. The meal was very good. Our room (No 2) was small, with 1 window only with no view at all (apart from looking out thru the door). It did not have any air con although we had selected it because the booking.com website said that the rooms did have air con. Perhaps other rooms did but not ours. The room would have been difficult to sleep in if we had not had a fan in it.

A beautiful little hideaway, with very smartly decorated rooms. The location - hidden from the road, parking. Will definitely come back if we have to spend more time around Aix. The management could have put more attention to bath amenities (shampoo and shower gel).

Peaceful country side in a forest with high and old trees. I saw some squirrels jumping from tree to tree. The hotel staff at the reception was very friendly. Clean but relatively old room equipement. No bright rooms. Value for money not so good.

We stayed in the hotel for the last week and it was perfect stay! First day we had a little problem to find the hotel, we hadn't gps and map, but finally when we find the exit next to the Carrefour in the Les Milles there were navigation panels to the hotel and it was perfect. The hotel is in nature, very calm and relaxing! The staff was very friendly and nothing was a problem. The first dinner we had in hotel restauration and it very tasty. Breakfast was ok, all from our group founded its food.

Easy access to motorways. Location in elevated rural setting. Size of room for two people. Not 3* standard. Decor rather poor and colours and ours was a superior room. Noisy at night as over dining room when being cleaned at end of service. Generally rather too rustic!

Basic accom, location out of town, looks nice, steam room looked good (book in advance). Would be better in summer. Room & bathroom a letdown, staff 'businesslike', just a tired old b&b.

La situation geographique Chambres vieillottes : -Odeur de renfermé -Literie a ressorts très inconfortable -Robinetterie dans la salle de bains presque hors d'usage -Dessus de lit propreté plus que douteuse -Boissons périmées dans le mini bar. Bref a déconseiller.
