Set in a traditional Provençal stone house from 1789, Le Vieux Bistrot offers guesthouse accommodation overlooking the church square in Cabrières- d'Avignon.
Score from 154 reviews Very good
Pros: the location itself is absolutely gorgeous and the buildings are unique and well maintened with a unique flare.
Cons: there is a drive to restaurants and other services. If you don't like the menu or visit on days where dinner service is not offered - you are stuck driving. While the drive is only 10 minutes, sometimes you just don't feel like going out after a day of sightseeing.
Nice area, nice hotel
a little bit too many prohibitive signs in the room and pool area...:-)
Beautiful rooms Scenic views from the room balcony Breakfast on the terrace Delicious dinners cooked by the staff. Large pool.
Very nice peaceful place, run by a very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast terrace, fantastic room, good bed. Room was very efficiently cleaned while having breakfast. All the reasons to come back.
A very 'minor' and very personal point: the place is located in one of the BEST quality honey-producing areas in the world. However, on the breakfast table the home-made jam and excellent bread was accompanied by industrial prepacked mainly artificial honey-like 'stuff' that just looked odd in this context. The natural thing would have made it perfect.
Views and general ambience. Good food.
A little too remote and quite scary mountain roads.
Too beautiful to leave.
with the price you paid, this must be one of the best, if not the best, hotels. In fact, it is comparable to the 5 star hotels. You can find all the fine details of design and efforts the owners put in the rooms as well as the surrounding of the hotel. I strongly recommend whoever travelling around this area to stay at least one night here.
The environment and attention to detail provided by the pair running the establishment.
A little hard to find for the naive motorist. GPS wasn't much help but did see some nice contryside while searching.
We found the room to be very comfortable if small. The breakfast on the terrace was a highlight with a stunning view. Unfortunately the Mistral was in so too cold to use the pool. Staff were efficient if a little cool
Very clean and neat, comfortable, great location as well! Wonderful host/owner. Close to Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, conveniently access by car to Agvinon, Sault, Gordes, Valensole...intimate little hotel with only 9 rooms, quite and private. My boyfriend and I absolutely love our time there, although only 4 days, we can't wait to return next year!
The most serene, quiet and beautiful setting that exceeded all our expectations. Ample and varied breakfast selection and delicious dinners. Excellent location for exploring the hill towns of the Luberon.
That we couldn't stay longer :(
Beautiful design. Very nice breakfast.
Wifi not working in the room. The address not properly recognized on my gps.
Not a thing.
