We needed a place to stay that was located in Bayeux so it would be close to a tour we were taking the following morning. Bayeux is beautiful and this location was ideal. The staff were very friendly. We had a shared bathroom, and the shower was pretty gross, and the door to the shower room didn't lock. The room wasn't as clean as I would have liked.

I had my own room and shower (although not a toilet) when I was expecting a hostel. It was fine. I was looking for a cheap hostel, and this was the cheapest accomadation I could find in Bayeux. WHile pricier than hostels it was pleasant and I had my own room which was a nice surprise.

I guess it was inixpensive Room 1 near stairs heard every footstep. Missed part where it took my amex card for reservation, but hotel wouldn't accept. Light out in bathrroom, No tissues in room. Almost ran out of tiolet paper in sharred bathroom, Attendant works in bar out front not to friendly to English speaking customers. Wonder if she was more friendly to Germans. Hot water took forever. Sink and shower heads clogged with minerals - sprayed everywhere (I fixed shower). Needed to leave at 7am, bar didn't open until 0730-ish, found unfriendly girl at pastry shop next door. Was going to leave key there. That's all I can remmeber for a one-night stay..

This tiny hotel of 10 rooms is so central in Bayeux that it eliminates the need for transport! The rooms are basic, but there are wash hand basins and bidets, the toilet (serving 4 rooms) and the showers likewise are just across the corridor that serves the rooms. There are two such corridors and then 2 individual rooms on lower floors. Because this hotel is in a building obviously many years old (centuries?) access is via a very steep circular staircase that was once (I think) a tower! The main street of Bayeux, full of good shops and ample places to eat is some 30 seconds from the door! It could not be better placed. The hotel sits above its own little cafe, which is obviously popular both with visitors and locals, just watch each morning the same people, obviously on their way to or from work, who drop in for their coffee, The hotal is ideal for those on a budget who want to be right in the centre of things, and because of the stairs are reasonably fit. I was very pleased at having "found" this hotel which has as its neighbour the town hall and the cathedral, some 50/100m up the road and would I wish to stay there again - YES! However, because of the stairs, I would not stay there if I had young children. I enjoyed my stay.

The location was great. Right off the main street (Rue St. Martin) in Bayeux. Very close to D-Day Landing Beaches and other WWII sites. Lots of restaurants and shops right outside the door. There is a cafe of the same name on the first floor. Bayeux is a great town for a Normandy visit. It's noisy, but that's to be expected in the middle of town. Hotel ran out of hot water on 1st night, but after that, the hot water was fine. No one at the hotel spoke English, which made the hot water problem on the first day a little more difficult, but we got through it.

We didn'T. We booked in and paid for 3 nights. We left after 1 night and stayed at a other hotel. The sheets on the bed were dirty. The shower was mouldy and only had warm water. The room stunk of urine. The shared toilet had shit all over the seat. The tv remote had no batteries but when the staff replaced them it did not matter as the tv had no reception anyway. We paid for cheap accomadation but because you pay for cheap doesn't mean you should pay for dirty accoumadation. We paid the same price per night at a different place and got 4 times the quality. This place was only rated as a one star and we struggle to think how it achieved this. After traveling through Europe for 6 weeks this definately rates as the worse place that we stayed at.
