Confolens is a pretty but small town.
Confolens is a pretty but small town. It is not great for restaurant choice out of season but we would stay in the area again as we found a nice place to eat and it was easy to walk into town from where we stayed. In summer it would be a good base to explore the area.

We only stayed two nights, passing through. Small town with few bars, cafes and restaurants, but quite sleepy with a lot of properties, sadly, boarded up. Still had charm about it. There is a castle / château at Confolens St Germain a short drive away, or a 1-hr walk each way. Great for a short stay.

I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely...
I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely selfish reasons. Great hosts and a lovely building very convenient for the village. We stayed as part of a tour on motorcycles with a group of friends, there’s even a garage for the bikes. Had we known in advance we we would have stayed for a few days, however we will be back at some point. Try the honey while you’re there as well, it’s lovely. Highly recommended.

Confolens is a beautiful town with gorgeous medieval buildings, churches and the Vienne running through it. Historic houses, bridges and castles are close. There are a variety if eating places to suit all tastes, even English fish and chip shop.. There are lovely unique shops, and two supermarkets. The old town is quite compact and is ideal for seeing the sights without getting too exhausted. As the meals at 13bees were very generous, we did not need to try out the local restaurants. But there appeared to be a good selection of them.anthonyUnited Kingdom

The double studio that we had was really well equipped with a little kitchenette, everything you need for a few days. Very clean and comfortable, especially with the air con, which was great during August's heat. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return.

The area is very green and beautiful and staying a night in the Maison du Magnolia was such a nice experience. The house is really beautiful und Davina makes it very special. She take care about every detail and I was super impressive with the amazing breakfast she prepared. It was a pleasure to stay there :)

We loved kitchen area, wonderful cakes and super breakfast. Nick & Mary were lovely relaxed hosts and chatted with us over breakfast. Parking was easy, in the street by the hotel.
