La Vieille Auberge is located in the medieval village of Le Mont Saint Michel, just a short walk from the famous Abbey.
Score from 221 reviews Good
Housed in a historic building, this hotel is ideally located in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel. The classic-style rooms overlook the bay, the abbey or the medieval city.
Score from 332 reviews Good

close to everything
long walk from the drop off point to the hotel.
Beautiful historical hotel in the middle of Le Mont Saint Michel. We had a really nice room with a view to the street. Clean room and comfortable bed.
Location is amazing, I had a side view and could see out to the ocean, the staff were so lovely, just so accommodating and would help with anything. A truly amazing experience in a great locationo
stairs only, and we were four ladies, one elderly.
Fantastic location on Mont St Michel and although the room was a little small and could have been updated a little, this was compensated for by where it was.
right in the Mont St Michel
my room is not in the main building, I need to go up with the luggage after the long walk from the bus station...it's a bit frustrating
Person at desk was a great help and more pleasant than anyone else we encountered at Mont St Michel.
Value for money was fair at best. I would not recommend to stay overnight at Mont St Michel.
Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Location was excellent.
Very noisy in the streets in the early morning
The young waitress at the restaurant was very sweet. If you want to eat outside, go to connected restaurant next door up the stairs.
Few bugs flying around if you sit next to open windows at street side restaurant. But food great. Waitress wonderful. Don't wait till late - they might not be able to serve you.

Couldn't be closer to everything to do in Mont Saint Michelle, room was excellent comfy bed, clean and modern. Lovely old building with welcoming staff will give you good memories. Slightly pricey but to be fair the location dictates this. Highly recommended for a magical medieval get away. We stayed in a top floor room (105) very private with good shower and bath and windows on the ancient street below.
the natural phenomenon of the island the abbey at night late night/early morning shuttles--plan well and stay off the island
disengaged hosts kitschy touristy annoying shops and hotels no authenticity no pride in the location by the vendors and hotel reception--this was clearly just a job to them
We lived in a separate building next to the small church. Good location. Our room had a good view from the window (but not in the next room). Room furnishings were simple but cleane.
Baggage handling in the old town was difficult. Do not take your heavy luggage to lead. Restaurants had closed already at 9 PM.
Location. That is what you are paying for.
Don 't expect much. This hotel is very basic. Did the job.
The location in Mont Saint Michel was great. The hotel has a breakfast a dining area. A short walk up the hill finds the castle / monastery. A smaller walk down the hill and you are at breakfast.
It would be great if one could drive up to the gates of Mont Saint Michel. As it was we had to find a car park some distance away on the mainland and catch a bus from there. The location of the car park was not obvious to us and we burnt 30 minutes trying to find it. Almost missed dinner with the kitchen closing just after we arrived.
Beautiful rooms with original features
all the stairs (part of Mont St.Michel) the shower wasn't really any good and the taps leaked a bit. The hot water was far too hot.
Liked the fact we were on the island before the tourist busses arrived and filled the place so we did the monastery and left the island until 4.00pm but came back to a quiet island
Room we had for four people was cramped and overlooked the back of a restaurant which started preparing for the next day very early and loudly
The room was furnished in a basic manner as expected, however, with no air conditioning or fan it was very hot in the room. We slept with the window open (due to the heat) but were woken at 5am by a forklift driving up and down the narrow street bellow, collecting recycling, clinking bottles and delivering food for restaurants. The noise from the fork lift then continued from 5-9am. I could not get back to sleep.
The location right on the Mt Saint Michel could not be equaled.
The room was very small, and the bathroom even smaller! Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Avoid the breakfast that is both very expensive and very bad. Seek out another restaurant or cafe for breakfast where it will be cheaper and much better.
We found the room very dirty, it looked like someone had thrown a glass of coke on the wallpaper, and it has never been cleaned. The carpets were very worn and the bathroom was the size of a airplane bathroom. Also, the breakfast was way overpriced for what you got. While we loved Mont St. Michel, would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone else.
The place is incredible and worth going to.
Staff is nice but not extreemly helpful.
Location perfect for enjoying a special stay on mont st Michel and the food in the restaurant was very good...especially the lamb.
For a 2star hotel seemed expensive, eventhough its on mont st Michel, the shower didnt work properly and the breakfast was 17euros each!!!!
Quaint setting. No crowds at night.
location is good, staff was nice and motivated before I checked-in
No hair-dryer in the room, when I called the reception , they asked me to come down; made me standing at the reception about 10 minutes, then told me sorry : all the hair dryer been borrowed, maybe available in the next morning!!
Great location, clean, nice people in reception.
If you travel with big and heavy bags, as we did, consider that getting there amid thousands of tourists in those streets is not easy, and it got worse as we got a room in the third floor with no elevator.
