Location. That is what you are paying for.
Don 't expect much. This hotel is very basic. Did the job.
The location in Mont Saint Michel was great. The hotel has a breakfast a dining area. A short walk up the hill finds the castle / monastery. A smaller walk down the hill and you are at breakfast.
It would be great if one could drive up to the gates of Mont Saint Michel. As it was we had to find a car park some distance away on the mainland and catch a bus from there. The location of the car park was not obvious to us and we burnt 30 minutes trying to find it. Almost missed dinner with the kitchen closing just after we arrived.
Beautiful rooms with original features
all the stairs (part of Mont St.Michel) the shower wasn't really any good and the taps leaked a bit. The hot water was far too hot.
Liked the fact we were on the island before the tourist busses arrived and filled the place so we did the monastery and left the island until 4.00pm but came back to a quiet island
Room we had for four people was cramped and overlooked the back of a restaurant which started preparing for the next day very early and loudly
The room was furnished in a basic manner as expected, however, with no air conditioning or fan it was very hot in the room. We slept with the window open (due to the heat) but were woken at 5am by a forklift driving up and down the narrow street bellow, collecting recycling, clinking bottles and delivering food for restaurants. The noise from the fork lift then continued from 5-9am. I could not get back to sleep.
The location right on the Mt Saint Michel could not be equaled.
The room was very small, and the bathroom even smaller! Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Avoid the breakfast that is both very expensive and very bad. Seek out another restaurant or cafe for breakfast where it will be cheaper and much better.
We found the room very dirty, it looked like someone had thrown a glass of coke on the wallpaper, and it has never been cleaned. The carpets were very worn and the bathroom was the size of a airplane bathroom. Also, the breakfast was way overpriced for what you got. While we loved Mont St. Michel, would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone else.
The place is incredible and worth going to.
Staff is nice but not extreemly helpful.
Location perfect for enjoying a special stay on mont st Michel and the food in the restaurant was very good...especially the lamb.
For a 2star hotel seemed expensive, eventhough its on mont st Michel, the shower didnt work properly and the breakfast was 17euros each!!!!
Quaint setting. No crowds at night.
location is good, staff was nice and motivated before I checked-in
No hair-dryer in the room, when I called the reception , they asked me to come down; made me standing at the reception about 10 minutes, then told me sorry : all the hair dryer been borrowed, maybe available in the next morning!!
Great location, clean, nice people in reception.
If you travel with big and heavy bags, as we did, consider that getting there amid thousands of tourists in those streets is not easy, and it got worse as we got a room in the third floor with no elevator.
Great Location Friendly and helpful staff Good food in main restaurant
Location of hotel excellent. Restaurant good.
Shower needed repair. Wifi didn't work. TV didn't work. Two beds were very cramped and you couldn't stand up by them. Steep curved stairs to room very difficult to manage and sooo difficult with case.
Location Friendly staff flexible check in and out
HiFi only worked in a corner of the building but you can live with out it for a day or so.
The view from our window
Wifi not available
location is perfect, and to stay overnight is a must! You can see the beauty of the place when most of the tourist departs -it feels like you have been transported in time, back to "DARK AGES"- the sunset and sunrise over the monastery is amazing too
food was bad,we eat in few places and i cant recommend any
Wonderful location Friendly staff
Every 10 metres or around every corner you just stop to look, photograph, or video. Staying overnight was worth the extra, after the daytrippers depart you can feel the calm of the location and the magnificent buildings. The lamb dinner was, of course, delicious. France has many old buildings, this is a treasure.
Even allowing for the rare experience, the markups were steep.
The greeting at reception by Nadine was fantastic. Our room was comfy with a stunning view over the abbey. I cannot rave about this hotel enough. It is fantastic and certainly worth the money to stay in such a special location
Nothing!! Was perfect
Excellent location. By staying overnight it was a wonderful opportunity to explore the mont with few people around, especially at night.
Location and breakfast
Far too expensive for such a small room
The receptionist was wonderful, the room lovely.
The location of the hotel, the noise from the street outside. Car parking is several miles from the hotel. Customers should really research Mont St Michel before going. It is a tourist rip off and not what I expected. I will not return.
Location is great since you are inside the Mont Saint Michel but that's about it!
Value for money was terrible- It was expensive for what it offers (I travel a lot and being inside the Mont St Michel doesn't explain the negligence of the staff, the poor wifi, the breakfast menu and the room had a view to a dirty wall and not the abbaye as it says! if you travel to the Mont. Stay in one of the hotel outside the Mont!
location great. Family room was fun
