눉1. No elevator from ground floor. We knew this before we made our reservations, and we understood the reason: the hotel sits on top of a restaurant, so you have to climb a set of stairs located to the side of the restaurant from the street to the main desk area of the hotel. Once you are at the reception area you can use the tiny elevator to all the upper floors of the hotel. Still, it is inconvenient to lug one's heavy luggage up a flight of stairs that 1st day when you are already tired and jet-lagged. We did not mind climbing up and down the stairs every day after that (without those bags!), but this hotel would be a no-go for anyone with mobility issues.
2. Size & configuration of rooms: We stayed in 2 rooms during our stay, one for 5 nights, 1 for 2 nights. Both faced the street and had great views of Notre Dame. Both were very clean and both had very comfortable beds. 1st room was small & so was bathroom -- e.g. so small that there was no room even for a toilet paper holder so toilet paper roll rested on top of toilet tank. We just felt a bit crammed in after a night or two, no matter how diligent we were about picking up after ourselves. 2nd room felt bigger and bathroom was definitely bigger. 2nd bathroom had a bathtub and a hand-held shower attachment. Problem was that there was no place to put the shower attachment so that you cld use it while standing up and there was no partition, glass wall, or anything else to catch to spatter that results from taking a shower while standing up (water always bounces off your body). So, we could not really shower in this nice bathroom, only soak in the bathtub (lovely for 1 day maybe but not what I really wanted) or use the handheld shower attachment while in a sitting position in the tub (so spatter is caught by tub walls). Almost every adult I know wants to be able to shower; that means standing up and not causing a flood in the surrounding room.
눇Location is outstanding: We could see Notre Dame right out our window. Metro right across the street. Taxi stand right at the other end of the block. We stayed a total of 7 nights (during Oct 2015) and only during 1 night was the street noise loud for a long time (till ~4:00 am). Room and bathroom both very clean. Beds very comfortable. Staff very helpful. Breakfast very nice: coffee or tea, very good croissants, butter, jams. If you want an egg dish, go to restaurant downstairs or any restaurant/bistro outside.
