Score from 244 reviews Very good
Excellent position on the banks of the lake, we had a lake view room which I would recommend paying a little more for. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good, lakside restaurant in the Hotel grounds . Easy access by car to Annessy but arrive early as it gets very busy once the masses arrive.
Nothing to dislike.
Location is excellent, staff could not do enough for you, room super , swimming pool and steam room just great
There did not seem to be anybody staffing the bar in the evenings
Excellent view on Annecy Lake. Big closet. We spent four nights there and we enjoyed the stay very much.
Facilities poor - no gym, bar/restaurant not open
The rooms and facilitys were excellent
Lack of restaurant tables led to an issue on our first night after long day travelling to be faced with no space in restaurant and having to drive around to find one was not a good experience
The swimming pool was excellent apart from having to go out in the rain to get there and back.
Being charged extra for a room with a lake view and put on the fourth floor in a side room surrounded by roof slopes with a small window at an elevated level so no chance of seeing the lake without being stood at the window. The staff said no other rooms were available when it was obvious that the Hotel was fairly empty and the restaurant in the Hotel was shut presumably because of the lack of guests.
Poor welcome with distinct lack of interest from reception staff which was mirrored by bar staff. Couldn't even have a coffee at 2.30 in the afternoon without walking approximately 100m, in the rain, to a tent in the hotel grounds, which in turn was closed. No restaurant facilities available within hotel building. The large tent which was supposed to be a feature restaurant. .
Nice view from the room, swimming pool
Restaurant is expensive, not fresh and not delicious food
Overlooking the lake. Hotel renovated to an excellent standard. Usual continental breakfast with bacon and egg the hot food alternative. At 18 euros per person breakfast seemed a bit pricey. Evening meal very good. Evening meal was in the Palace Beach marquee.
There were perhaps too many steps to negotiate to and from the restaurant back to the main hotel.
Quality value for money
did not get room shown, we were put in an attic room, which was far from elegant as described, have stayed in far better for a lot less money.
position, swimming pool, dinner, breakfast, atmosphere
number of steps down (and up from) the restaurant. The weather
The fairy tale setting in a perfect position. Near two pretty villages and10mins by car to Annecy. Pool was a plus.
Breakfast adequate but not properly supervised. Too many stairs to pool and lakeside resturant a challenge particularly in the rain
Wonderful location, room had excellent views of lake.Helpful staff.Free parking.
Main restaurant being shut for evening meal.Price of breakfast at 18 euros made us do without.
Excellent view of the lake, Annecy and surroundings. Staff helpful after we phoned ahead that our arrival will be very late due to delays in getting our rental car. There was a wedding party reception held there that night at the hotel ballroom so waiting for our late check-in at 1am was no problem for them.
Breakfast would have been better given the steep price (€10). The Sunday breakfast because it was a local Annecy holiday was good but the following Monday hotel had fewer guests, but why there was less food presented for the same price was puzzling indeed.
We liked the hotel architecture and the restaurant. The location and the swimming pool were excellent.
The bathroom sink plug would not release. No coffee and tea making facilities in room.
The lake views stunning from top floor room , Palace Beach Restaurant and staff there superb.
Despite requesting a special table in the main restaurant for a special occasion the hotel failed to inform us that it was closed the week we had booked and reserving a table at the Palace Beach was not possible - first come first served basis only. No Air conditioning in room.
Very nice hotel in a calm area
Beautiful setting and grounds
There was nothing to dislike
Fabulous location and facilities for a top 5 star hotel. Lake-side restaurant and pool were highly enjoyable additional attractions. Being able to garage our classic car (at no extra cost) was much appreciated. A "garden view" room gave a pleasant prospect of the valley to the side.
On arrival, the reception clerk expressed somewhat disdainful surprise that we had booked for one night only (specifically chosen for a luxury night on our wide ranging classic car driving tour). Hmm! I thought that such superciliousness had made way to the better appreciation that it is the customer who pays hotel employees' wages? Perhaps not when staff are more full of their own importance! Breakfast cost (additional to room rate) was very poor value for the meagre few fly-buzzed items left to dry out. Staff support for welcome, explanation and replenishment of breakfast choices was not evident, even at 30 minutes before breakfast should have ended. These two disappointing points rather took the edge off what should have been a very special stay. Silly, really, because with the right attitude from staff, it could have been where it should have been (and better value).
I loved Dennis the lake/pool guy....he was so attentive and friendly. His English was better than the receptionist ladies. Also the french gentleman at the front desk had great customer service.
I didn't like the French ladies at the front desk. Not at all friendly or welcoming.
Location is amazing. Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was spacious and clean.
Very quite and very nice place
15 m by Car to the City Center
The suites were spacious and the views were phenomenal. The restaurant was over priced but the food was good. I would definitely stay here again
Restaurant was over priced.
Just about everything was nice. Scenery, roomsize, pool area, staff, parking, garden, clean place, breakfast, location. I liked it a lot.
Dinner was ok but not more than that. Quite pricey and not really worth it if it wasnt for the view which is everything in this case. I gladly paid for the view. It's paradise.
