It is situated near the Town Hall of Lyon. Wi-Fi Staff does not speak English adequately and is not warm enough. In the five days we stayed there, sheets have never been changed (even after explicitly asking for it) and the room has not been cleaned. The blanket was already dirty when we moved in. The building has no elevator.

The location where it is situated. The room (number 110) was spacious enough, however sleeping on those tiny beds was a dreadful experience. Not only were they tiny, but they also had very thin mattresses which means that one can feel the planking below and I tell you this really makes your whole body ache!! Moreover, the room was dirty (not even a small mirror in the room was clean, something so noticeable!), the bathroom was almost disgusting (not only was it dirty, but they haven’t even bothered to take off paint that has dripped on the walls and the tap). Also, this room smelt really bad, the heating was not sufficient, cold air and moisture was coming in the room from the door leading directly outside. When we tried to tell to the morning shift (a lady and a gentleman) that we had a problem with the heating, we couldn’t communicate as they wouldn’t understand much English. Later, when we got back to the room and realized that we still had a problem, we informed the night shift (who spoke fluent English) about the problem. He said heating is at maximum, that he had no extra portable heating and could do nothing. We also told him that the room smelt bad, he said I’ll have a look, but did nothing.

Perfect location, close to the center of city and at the same time, very quiet place. The central patio is beautiful. Very peaceful atmosphere. No elevator. Could be a problem if you have a lot of heavy luggage.

Our room (with en suite) was basic but very clean and reasonably comfortable, ideal for a one or two night stay although I wouldn't want to stay longer. It was very quiet. The room opened onto a pretty inner courtyard but we felt this meant that we didn't feel able to open the window at night and it was, therefore, a bit stuffy. A fan in the room would have been good. No lift and quite a lot of stairs. If it wasn't for the lady receptionist, who carried our cases up the stairs for us, we would have had quite a struggle as my husband and I are both in our 70s. Nice central location though. Pleasant dining room for a good, reasonably priced, breakfast

Location is perfect, and decor, though a bit of a mixed bag, generally is nice and quite new, with a good bed, nice bathroom and new tv. Fairly quiet. Nice little courtyard garden. Friendly, English-speaking staff. No parking - nearby public parking was about 30 Euro for a day, so if travelling by car either factor this into the cost or plan on somewhere outside the centre of Lyon. Street can look a bit rough, but felt safe enough. We were a bit concerned when arriving late evening to just find a massive closed double door, but just press the buzzer and they will let you in - it should be staffed 24h. Breakfast a bit too meager to warrant the 8 Euro price tag.

Although the furnishings were dated the bed was clean & comfortable & staff very helpful. The location was excellent on the street behind the fountain in the Place Terreaux. The Place Terreaux had street cafes with happy hours & good value food. There were small supermarkets & bakeriesnear. The trams c3 &c13 took you to the train station Part Dieu &where you could also catch the Rhone express to the airport There was a fan for air conditioning but I did not need it in May

This is a wonderful hotel with individual rooms of character (I stayed in the Japanese room!) In a perfect location for exploring central Lyon. 30 seconds from the town hall and metro and bike hire. The owner is exceptionally friendly and went out his way in several ways to help us, give us local knowledge (including an amazing local restaurant) as well as maps, directions and wake up calls. I highly recommend it.
