Everything--the breakfast was outstanding-- served in the converted cellar by the owners, who were very friendly and helpful during our 2 nights stay. We tried both of their recommended restaurants and had a super meal each time Will return on our next visit to Soulliac.
Everything, we only stayed one night on our way south, but wouldn't hesitate to stay longer. Easy access from the motorway lovely town plenty of restaurants.
There was nothing to dislike
Room size Welcome from staff Location Price
Excellent location in the heart of Dordogne. Very welcoming staff and nothing was too much trouble
Quaint small quirky hotel in a perfect location
No wifi code in room
Our room looked right our into the small market square. The house dates back to the 16th C and is full of character, with rooms prepared to a high standard. Friendly owner & staff and a good breakfast. Private parking (but be aware the access streets are very narrow!)
Nothing really, but be aware you may be woken early by the market being set up just outside. All part of the local character
Quaint place to stay
We had such a great time in the hotel which is very comfortable and clean!! The breakfast is delicious, probably the best we had in france. The owners are so nice and kind. They give each guest its personal attention. Highly reccomended :)
On a positive note, the hotel is nice, clean and well run. Just check if there is anything on the days you stay!
We arrived fairly late but within the time given to find we could not park the car, and had to initially leave it on the street… and then move it late on the night. There was also a jazz festival going on the two days we stayed, which went on to 23:30 right outside the window, and to make things worse, a market set up outside our window at 7:00 next day!
The rooms were very individual. The place was spotless and the rooms had real character.
One of the rooms was a bit pokey
Very kind, knowledgeable owners who have created uniquely decorated country chic rooms and know everything about the area (owner was a vice-mayor in town for a while). The hotel faces the 12th century "beffroi" and a small central plaza where there is a Wednesay night locally-sourced market and where we ate at the affordable, delicious outdoor Couleur Cafe where you could have a full meal with locally sourced cheese, veggies and more for 10-15 euros. SOuillac is a good option as slightly less overrun with tourists than all other spots. It was about a half hour drive from all big tourist spots. Note: family room # 12 with 2 twin beds and large parent bed ( separated by large curtain) had absolutely lovely linens and decor and a view of all the happenings outside. Merci aux proprietaires pour toute votre aide et votre accueil chaleureux!
Nothing, but note that you need to pop by office to find out where parking is located. it is a block away but all luggage can be dropped off in front....and there is an elevator.
The hotel itself is a lovely old building with beautiful features. The rooms are small but comfortable. The owners are lovely and cannot do enough for guests. They were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were very hot at night. Although once i requested a fan one was put in my room. The breakfast, although very nice, was very over priced.
Location and character of 15th century old building.
Front of the building over looking a lively market is noisy. Have to accept that a 500 year old manor house has many limitations: no air conditioning, so hot in summer.
Central location, beautiful building, friendly owners.
Noise from Jazz festival - unless you love Jazz, check the dates before you book!
The people were very nice and friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and the breakfast fantastic.
Very pitoresc location and friendly owners. Good breakfast. Parking for big car needs cool driver.
Great staff, excellent location, hotel had a real atmosphere of the old world.
Breakfast ok but a bit expensive.
lovely building, helpful staff, central position
The building is right in the gorgeous old centre of Souillac and is beautiful itself. The owners where lovely and the breakfastbuffet was great.
The room was a bit warm.
Great location for old town, markets On your doorstep, friendly hosts, loads of choices for food and drinks.
Nothing really against. May be not so Great on non-market day.
Ambience of the old building with lovely furniture and staircase. Room had a view over the square.
very friendly staff, very accommodating.excellent breakfast
The staff and owners were absolutely wonderful and very helpful
Lovely old hotel and friendly staff.
pity no evening meals. As usual in France breakfast was expensive but we did not take it so no idea what it was like.
La patronne was charming , most friendly and very helpful , not only to us but also to members of our family who were staying nearby .
