Featuring a large terrace with panoramic views of the sea and Channel Islands, this hotel is just over half a mile from the Granville Train Station.
Score from 409 reviews Very good
The hotel is situated in the center of Granville, in a green and quiet setting, a 15 minutes walk form the beach and a 5 minutes walk from the train station.
Score from 560 reviews Good
Hotel Des Bains is located in the seaside resort of Granville, 65 miles west of Caen. It offers rooms with satellite TV, free Wi-Fi access and a view of Mont Saint Michel bay.
Score from 523 reviews Very good
Set in a 19th-Century house, Villa les Dunes is a bed and breakfast located in Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, just a 35-minute drive from the Mont Saint-Michel.
Score from 105 reviews Excellent
The location is unbeatable. Right in front of the ocean and the beach is so huge you don't really feel the crowd. Granville and its center are still within walking distance and it's a very pleasant stroll if the weather is good. They've got a great restaurant with friendly staff and quality food (although we found their oysters a little bit too salty).
The Wifi got disconnected constantly. Fortunately, the front desk staff provided us with a cable for our laptop, but it might not be always available if there are seminars and many business travelers.
Location, spa facilities, ample free car parking. Nice balcony overlooking sea with large sliding glass doors. All very clean, fresh and new.
Some staff not as professional as they might have been. Beds far too hard and therefore uncomfortable. No food if you arrive after 9pm off ferry from UK. Breakfast had limited choice of items and boring after a week as the same every day
Staff helpful; wet room available; lifts; many facilities; great position by beach; good restaurant.
The location is good next to the beach and short driving distance of golf and Granville centre
Very high price for very narrow sized room (15 sq metres)- and my room was the top room category !!! Felt like a hospital wifh patients (hotel guests) walking around fhe hotel lobby in white dressing gowns. Dining room badly designed - table for two often meant two persons sitting right next to you, making conversation impossible.
The service are good, special from Maria by the front desk. into the ground aera there are good working airco. the braekfast where good, and its hotel where directly on the beach.
the rooms are bad, very small, only 1 yard space arround the bed, and this where not the standard room, but the room with balcony. its where impossible too sleep, because there where no airco, and it where to hot into the room. bad for this new good looking hotel. The swimming pool where beautifull but very salty, too much, your eyes cannot have this, you can only swem with a protection for your eyes. I never come back into this place again. its where too bad.
Clean, bright, right on the ocean
what's not to like?
Excellent shower. Large comfortable bed. Friendly reception staff.
Breakfast ran out of some items quickly and not refilled. Breakfast was quite pricey for what was available
The staff were very helpful with 2 guests who don't speak much French.
Restaurant service not so good with 2 items ordered not received. Room service not up to much with nothing replenished (soap, milk etc) and outside left untouched.
Staff were good but you do need a bit of basic French
Our room was too small and despite this being a new hotel there was no air conditioning (although there were controls) the only window was a sliding door which opened onto a fire escape. This meant that security in our room was compromised if we left it open and we were unable to sleep with it closed, no fresh air and unbearable heat.
The menu was awful and the room wasn't big enough to swing a chat.
Love the location of the hotel, right in front of the beach. The room is clean with a comfortable bed and a very modern interior. We also love the full spa facilities in the hotel. Great hotel for full relaxation. The staffs from the hotel reception to the restaurant, they are all extremely helpful and friendly. It's less than hour drive to Mont-St-Michel (45 min).
The bathroom is a bit on the small side but it worked out well for us.
Room and bed comfortable. Wet room v. good. Food v. good and great location by sea and sands.
could not access Wifi
Fab location, very helpful staff. All in all a very pleasant stay.
The fire alarm on the first night!! Thankfully it was a false alarm.
Location, partial sea view, breakfast was very good, room is small but nicely designed
openinig hours of swimming pool are a joke. We could not visit even once as it was closed after 8 and opening only after 9 30 with a long lunch break in between....
Reception personnel very nice!
Restaurant personnel NOT nice at all! Rude!
Easy to find. New, clean hotel. Right on the beach
Should have read the small print - I thought it was a 'sea view' but it was a 'lateral sea view', ie sideways to the beach, had to stick my head out the window to see the beach. Breakfast was good, but dinner previous evening was a little light on portions, and there are no shops around to top up a hungry traveller
Nice relaxing decor. On the beach. Seawater pool. Friendly staff.
Very quiet, lacks buzz. No mini bar. Internet drops out after a brief period. €15 for use of pool, even in September. Very few parking spots at front of hotel.
Sea terrace room; comfortable bed; views from bedroom and dining room; spa pool; excellent breakfast
Restaurant menu for evening meal did not cater for vegetarians (ie no fish no meat). Having ordered at breakfast time for 3 vegetarian evening meals the meals served lacked protein, although it was well cooked and presented. We felt as though we were being catered for as vegans despite having explained we ate cheese, eggs milk and other dairy products. Towels, toilet rolls and milk cartons were not always replaced in the bedroom although were supplied after a request. Suggest cleaning staff need a checklist when cleaning rooms. Some systems did not seem to be in place.
The hotel is well located in the water front at 50m from the beach.
Very disappointed. I made the reservation because it was one of the few hotels proposing a room with sea view, but I did not got any! The advertise the room as being a sea view room but if you are not paying attention to the small letters then you will discover that it is only with “Partial sea view”. I found their advert totally misleading and as all these small print strategies are they are in place just to deceive, the customer and in my case they did succeed. I must add that in the invoice the room is charged as a room with sea view! There is no indication about the partial sea view. Very very much disappointed. For the rest, I did use any of the hotel facilities, as I did not go for the Thalasso, but one thing that I should also mention is the smell of the hotel. It smells like you are entering into a hospital. I guess is related with the thalasso facilities and the chlorination of the pool and things like that. Any way I would never ever, go in any thalasso-type hotel and needless to say that I will not go to that one either. Last thing. You have to pay for the breakfast 9 Euros per head, but I would suggest taking your breakfast either in a bakery in the main street of Donville-les Bains, much better and cheaper, or at Granville in front of the yacht club next to the Ibis hotel, as we did. This is a great place especially if the weather allows it.
Location price sea view
No airco in the room. Not possible to let open the room-window during the night. Problems with wifi quiet during the night
