The location is superb. Dinner excellent -though not cheap, good value. Friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast is rather expensive though good selection. Being asked what time we would be in for breakfast seemed pointless as it all self-service, apart from someone pouring initial cup of coffee for you - but that was from a jug in the food area!

The location and views of the Loire were superb. The reception staff in particular were extremely friendly and helpful, particularly as we are English speaking.

The food in the restaurant was very good, however the drinks waiter forgot about us completely once he had delivered our pre-dinner drinks.

Tea and coffee should be provided in the rooms in our opinion. Also although the breakfast was excellent it is debatable whether 21 euros for it was good value.

The main building was very luxurious and had spectacular panoramic view of the river. We arrived several hours early, but after coffee on the terrace our room was ready. We did not stay in the main building but in one of the chalets which was not as luxurious as the main building. We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal.

The accommodation outside the main building was not particularly plush.

I had stayed at Le Prieure many times, many years ago (in the 70s), and kept marvelous memories of the location, overlooking the river loire, the architecture (Renaissance looking castle), the service, the decoration and comfort of the rooms and the gourmet food. Only the location, architecture and professionalism of the staff met my expectations.

When you book a superior room in a "Chateaux Hotel" at € 245 a night, you do not expect to be shown into a redecorated (poorly) basement where the door is not the proper size for the opening, and then being switched to a room under the roof, without A/C, with middle class 60s wall paper, sun bleached bed spread, and period 70s bedding. The restaurant menu is pompous, and the food quality does not match the menus pretension and prices (€ 163,50 for a dinner for 2!!! with local wine). As a conclusion, I would say that only the setting, the staff professionalism and the prices meet the expectation. In order to stay on the map, Le Prieure better invest in serious upgrading, a professional cook, or charge in accordance witn their level of performance. I doubt they can do it.

The food and table service was the best we had.

The only problem with castles and abbeys is no lifts therefore it is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Excellent location an view from the hotel over the Loire valley. The restaurant was fully booked but when receptionist saw our disappointment she somehow managed to get us a table.

No coffee/ tea making facilities in the room.

The view was great, the room delightful and we were impressed by the helpfulness of the staff both in reception and at dinner.

The tv should have a limit on the volume level or the sound proofing between rooms needs to be improved. That said, the staff were very helpful in requesting that the occupant of the next door room turn down the tv. The breakfast is in my view over-priced bearing in mind that the rooms are not inexpensive.

Pour un hotel de cette catégorie on ne s'attend pas à trouver des chambres à la déco aussi passée.

Ontbijt,slecht en veel te duur ( € 21 ), maar eigenaar beslist, niet directie, maar hotelgroep staat te koop, er is in 25 jaar niets vernieuwd

Le site, ainsi que le chateau en lui-même, dans un très beau parc dominant la Loire.

Le seul inconvénient, les marches et l'escalier intérieur donnant accès aux chambres et aux différents points : restaurant, terrasse ... difficile aux personnes à mobilité réduite .

La situation est excellente et le personnel est agréable La cuisine est excelletente

As instalações são lindas, o bosque que contorna o Chateau é uma delícia, o quarto é muito confortável e a vista é deslumbrante.

Embora seja um hotel de luxo, o restaurante é exageradamente caro, até mesmo para a categoria.

Chambre très ordianire dans une annexe + 2 petits déj : 175 euros ! Restaurant agréable amis nous avons la plus mauvaise table alors que le restaurant n'était pas plein ! Service très peu présent !

Un cadre idéal, une vue magnifique sur le val de loire et le calme absolu.
