The impossibility of finding it. If you arrive by car, the entrance to the hotel is through the back, via an underground public car park. The front of the hotel is in a tiny, narrow street closed to traffic. Yet that is the street address of the hotel. You did not point this out to us in your confirmation email; consequently we spent nearly an hour going round and round the one-way system untiI finally I had to make an embarrassed phone call to the hotel for directions. It is imperative that you point this out to anyone who books this hotel in future. This problem nearly spoiled our entire enjoyment of our stay.

Perfect location. Exelent staff. Not realy big but very cosy rooms. Underground parking.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room which was allocated to us had a pleasent view over the roof tops of the city (excellent). Breakfast with a very good selection. Hotel was recommended to us by our son and daughter-in-law. Well Done.

The location of the hotel in the centre of Troyes was a huge bonus, allowing us to leave the car in the hotel's parking bays in safety and walk directly to the city centre. The comfort room was excellent, with an extremely comfortable bed and luxurious fixtures and fittings. We received an extremely friendly reception from the owner who showed us directly to our room and had time for a chat over drinks.The investment in the hotel was apparent as was the pride taken by the owners.

Very little. We had read about the difficulties of finding the underground parking but carefully drove up the Rue Charles de Gaulle from the station end and with the aid of city centre maps printed from the Internet searched for the car park entrance on the right - no problem. It was only when we had parked up and checked in that the owner suggested we move the car to the hotel's bays giving direct access to reception. Yes, the drinks were expensive, particularly the whiskies but the measures in our pastis glasses and the comfort of the bar/lounge soon diminished the issue!!

Staff were helpful, got a room upgrade on Xmas eve.

The location is excellent. It is situated in the middle of the old town. The area is very charming. The jaccuzi is an lovely surprise too.

The rooms are old and worn down.

This is an excellent hotel, right in the centre of the old part of the town, where there is a large number of places to eat. The rooms are beautifully designed, the staff are particularly helpful and the location is ideal for visiting the town. The breakfast, though expensive, was of a good standard. The hotel has its own secure parking which is good value at €10 per night. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Our only concern was finding the entrance to the underground parking area. One has to drive around a pedestrian zone and, because of some roadworks, it was not easy to find the way in.

Marilyn fell on the street and received excellent attention from the staff. Fortunately, she had only minor injuries. We were given good recommendations for restaurants. Our room (401) was excellent.

We had a great experience at the Relais Saint Jean. The hotel and staff were excellent. We were upgraded to the master suite from the junior suite as we mentioned it was our honeymoon on the booking. I also wanted to get my hair done but can't speak French and the kind lady behind the desk came with me to explain and I got exactly what I wanted. We stayed an extra 2 days and enjoyed the Junior suite also. We would recommend this hotel and would return.Many Thanks

Staff and facilities excellent, in centre of Troyes which is great for shopping and restaurants etc. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.
