Staff, indoor pool, pet friendly.
Restaurant closed We'd & Thurs. Need to book, we were not told this and when we went for meal were told fully booked. Despite only half tables set and no offer to help by setting an extra table for two, just told to go to next village. Not happy with this !
The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff can't do enough to help The food in the restaurant is good and overall the prices are reasonable. This was our second stay here and our good impressions from our first visit were even better from our second. The hotel is set in lovely gardens away from any main roads with excellent parking. It is very quiet and it is lovely to leave your windows wide open and hear the owls hoot at night. The indoor swimming pool is great and quite warm. If you want to swim in the sea Trouville is not very far away and it has a great sandy beach with lifeguards. If you enjoy people watching spend a Saturday morning on Trouville beach and watch the local people at play it will give you a great insight into how well the French organise themselves!
Nothing at all really but you do need to have a car as it is a little remote if you are on foot and remember its at the top of a hill if you are on a bicycle!
Great Food (in-house restaurant) Quiet place Easy to find
We were very hungry when we arrived, but couldn't get a dinner because we didn't have reservation, and it was ca. 15 min. before the restaurant closed.
situation comfort cleanliness
we could not stay for dinner because of lack of staff.
Hotel in old cottage with oak furniture and windows, with spirit of old France.
like an old friend, a little tired but good to get back to. the breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Not much finesse. Dinner a little patchy.
Very helpful staff. Well located, out of the busy tourist towns of the area, but 10-15 by car from them. Very clean. Appreciated the swimming pool, which we had to ourselves in the morning!
We were told upon our arrival in the evening that the restaurant was full and we couldn't have diner. The staff was very helpful by reserving for us at a very good (but expensive!) nearby restaurant, however most of the tables at Le Romantica seemed free for most of the evening... I learnt later that they were "under-staffed" and that this was the reason we couldn't dine there. It was a pity, as the restaurant seemed really excellent (a lot of people not staying in the hotel but coming there for diner), and we also had to put our baby back in the car seat and go somewhere else for dined, after already a long travel...
The hotel was in a quiet location and was well-presented. Most of the staff only spoke French but were very welcoming and helpful. The room was good value for money - clean and comfortable.
The food and wine were expensive. As the hotel was in a small rural village it would have meant driving to find another restaurant and after a day of driving we didn't want to go out again.
The kindness of the staff, the bathroom, the balcony, the sea view, the restaurant
Heading south from the Le Havre ferry. Pit-stopped the night. Comfortable. Restaurant fully booked - staff arranged very good supper un my room. Helpful directions in the morning. Peaceful setting overlooking the sound.
I would have liked to have dined in the restaurant - which has a good kitchen and a fine view. Can't fault or criticise the fact that it was fully booked, and attracts non-residents. Can I suggest that a note on the website advising the likely need to make a reservation, would be helpful?
The great atmosphere!
Car parking, dining room, proximity to Honfleur , helpfulness of staff and value for money.
pool is the best sooo warm , room more than adequate with seperate bedroom for kids & table with 4 chairs if bring your own food , set in lovely surroundings with sea view , treville just down the road well worth a visit .
As a positive I can consider the location of the hotel in green environment, two swimming pools (outdoor as well as indoor) and free parking place in front of hotel. And I would appreciate the receptionist did not charge me for broken glass, which dropped from fridge after opening of door.
Indoor pool is open just to 8 p.m. (even in summer holiday time). We arrived in the hotel slightly after eight just we had no chance to use that as well as outdoor pool due to rain. We have been accommodated in room at the very end, a couple tens of meters from hotel lobby. As we wanted to get to lobby, restaurant and / or to parking place we had to walk across the plot, right next to outdoor swimming pool. We had to carry our luggage (suitcases) in hands which was not very convenient as well. The customer approach of staff was however impersonal with very low knowledge of foreign languages. The room we have been accommodated was overheated, looked obsolete and used, especially bathroom. I have got three wifi codes and passwords at the reception upon arrival (for each of our devices) but I could not use any of them as the strength of the signal in the room was very weak. Only place I had used partially the internet was restaurant.
In general, the hotel is fine but there is room for improvement. There are many steps and no elevator. The staff should be more proactive in assisting travelers with their bags. My mattress was larger than the bed frame, causing me to fall on the floor.
The outdoor pool was a superb asset in very warm weather.
Standard rooms are tight for two people
needed a more flexible menu
Lovely secluded rural setting. Superb on-site restaurant. Excellent indoor and outdoor pools. Ample car parking. Courteous staff.
Room was a little smaller than ideal, but very good value anyway.
Excellent View Comfort
The building was very pictoresque, the grounds were beautiful. The view from our room of the sea was lovely. The room was very nicely decorated and furnished, immaculately clean. The en suite was fitted out nicely with a nice shower. The swimming pool was absolutely great, I went for a swim every day. The staff were really kind and friendly, very gentle and calm and organised.
The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that breakfast was not included and was either 9 euros or 11 euros per person, depending on which you chose. This is probably the going rate, but we chose not to bother and had breakfast out. This would definitely not stop me staying here again.
The view from the balcony and the garden.
Location, beautiful surroundings and quiet, and yet handy for Honfleur. Excellent food and very helpful staff. Highly recommended
The position, very romantic
Superb hotel facilities for young children. Hotel staff were very welcoming and fully understood the needs of a family with young children Excellent value for money.
Very peaceful and an idyllic location but a little bit isolated.
