Location is perfect, right at the center with plenty of lovely restaurants and shopping nearby, and easy access to transportation. Service level at the hotel is that rare gem: genuine caring for the customer, a real effort since the hotel is also a institute for future high-end hotel workers. No matter what I asked (restaurant reservation, tips, possibility to have extra guest for breakfast), there was an instant and warm reply. I recommend this hotel to everyone, specially for those who require a high standard and are usually disappointed.

The only thing to avoid is to have a very late Sunday breakfast as everybody else is sleeping in, it is jam-packed and young staff was getting stressed.

Most front desk staff were helpful.

Rooms are a bit "past sell by date"..need renovation. No electricity in bathroom outlet. Toilet seat cracked!

Location, staff fantastic, helpful and kind. Kitchen room was astounding with every food possible in offering. The hotel was extremely profession with a homely and friendly atmosphere.

The decor in the hotel is truly amazing.

The air conditioning in our room did not work. Breakfast was chaotic and many guests complained.

Attentive staff -very knowledgable about the area and restaurants. Room/suite was romantic, circular(in a tower) large, well decorated, clean with double glass doors leading to a balcony overlooking the square! Excelllent choice in the center of everything.

Excellent location, right on the Place Bellecour and therefore very central. Nicely appointed bathroom and sumptuous bedding without being too heavy. Our rooms were on the top floor and therefore had excellent views without being noisy.

The room was stifling and no fiddling with the air-con system made any difference - in the end we had to open our window, despite it being sub-zero outside, just to get some fresh air and bring the temperature down. This is a serious flaw and made the room quite uncomfortable to be in. On checking out we were initially charged for 6 breakfasts (3 people x 2 nights) even though we'd had none, which I thought unprofessional, although the front desk staff corrected it immediately which partially redeemed the initial error. In my view these issues are not good enough for a 5-star rated hotel.

Charming, elegant and excellent breakfast

it was a magical hotel: beautiful location, beautiful decoration, great service. I really recommend the breakfast, fresh products from local producers. Amazing!

I can't fault the place, really. It is right in the middle of town overlooking the beautiful Place Bellecours in that thin isthmus between the Saone and Rhone Rivers. The next street over is a shoppers delight of old antique stores, galleries and clothes shops (thankfully free of the big international brands) The hotel has been renovated to a high standard and the staff are delightfully friendly and efficient. The rooms are well appointed and fresh - bed very comfortable with pillows and duvets which you can disappear into. Breakfast was a treat - far above the usual fare. And as a small bonus the hotel is a training ground for the Paul Bocuse Institution.

The interior decoration is very nice. Hotel staff was very attentive and very helpful with advance reservations.

Bathrooms definetly need a renovation. They look like from the 80s. With this design I would have expected more. Rooms are not very large
