Hôtel Le Royal Lyon - MGallery Collection  

Location was great for touring downtown Lyon and Old Lyon. Tourism office sits accross from the hotel !! Metro easy ride to Part Dieu TGV station or take Red Line to Rhone Express to St Exupery airport. There was a nice outdoor food market for self catering along the Soane river, easy walk from hotel (less than 10 minutes). Concierge was very helpful and friendly, so was front desk! Bedding was great. Decor has old world feel but cozy.

Air conditioner worked ok but not as robust as should be for such a category hotel. If you really need freezing cold air to sleep at night, you may be dissappointed.

Good located very close to Metro station, Comfortable large room, quite, clean, very excellent bed covered feather. Toilet is separated from bath room.

The flow of hot water in the bath room was poor in the evenning, supposed many rooms took shower at the same time. Should be improved.

Very nice hotel, price and conditions very resonable. Location is perfect. Staff is very kind. If they have some mistake, they do themself and correction it.

Beautifully appointed and centrally located

Room service was inconsistent...may have been a language problem.

Excellent location, right on the Place Bellecour and therefore very central. Nicely appointed bathroom and sumptuous bedding without being too heavy. Our rooms were on the top floor and therefore had excellent views without being noisy.

The room was stifling and no fiddling with the air-con system made any difference - in the end we had to open our window, despite it being sub-zero outside, just to get some fresh air and bring the temperature down. This is a serious flaw and made the room quite uncomfortable to be in. On checking out we were initially charged for 6 breakfasts (3 people x 2 nights) even though we'd had none, which I thought unprofessional, although the front desk staff corrected it immediately which partially redeemed the initial error. In my view these issues are not good enough for a 5-star rated hotel.

Great interior design and the breakfast was a standout (albeit for €21 a head) Right on Place Bellecour near the shops and restaurants

If anything the bathroom was a little small but not really by Paris standards.

The best was the location, just in the Bellecour place, and the quietness of the room.

The tv is only in French.

A very spacious room and incredibly comfortable extra large bed. What a great surprise for a standard Deluxe Room. Very friendly and attentive staff. Fairly quiet room despite central location, near a big square and exposed to traffic. Great little balconet and huge windows lovely bathroom facilities: great toiletries, bathtub and bathrobes pleasant design of the room and good functionality

Although staff was very friendly, kind, attentive and carrying: - extremely slow service when a iron and iron boards were requested. (over an hour wait and 3 phone calls were necessary to chase the delivery) - we were offered the wrong type of coffees by the room service. - mistake on the bills; wrong items billed - staff showed really poor knowledge of the city centre as well as which restaurants to recommend - mini bar fridge was not working - Reception team seemed a little understaffed and overwhelmed from time to time

it was a magical hotel: beautiful location, beautiful decoration, great service. I really recommend the breakfast, fresh products from local producers. Amazing!

I can't fault the place, really. It is right in the middle of town overlooking the beautiful Place Bellecours in that thin isthmus between the Saone and Rhone Rivers. The next street over is a shoppers delight of old antique stores, galleries and clothes shops (thankfully free of the big international brands) The hotel has been renovated to a high standard and the staff are delightfully friendly and efficient. The rooms are well appointed and fresh - bed very comfortable with pillows and duvets which you can disappear into. Breakfast was a treat - far above the usual fare. And as a small bonus the hotel is a training ground for the Paul Bocuse Institution.

The interior decoration is very nice. Hotel staff was very attentive and very helpful with advance reservations.

Bathrooms definetly need a renovation. They look like from the 80s. With this design I would have expected more. Rooms are not very large
