Location and staff
No resident tables available in the restaurant for dinner.
Location, free wifi, good service, size of room
Good location, its not very expensive for Lyon parking and all the staff are doing. Good nomer.Ploho that on Saturdays and Sundays are not a restaurant.
The rug The walls
The breakfast was very good and the place was very Nice and cosy Decorated. Also the bar was cosy and the served wine was excellent
Location, walking distance to Vieux Lyon Nicely decorated Close to Metro Good front desk statff WiFi
OK room size for France, but smallish by US standards Some mold and grim on bath grout, quite noticealbe
lighting in the room and difficult to shut the lighting from the bedside
Situated on large beautiful square and walking distance to both rivers. Lyon Perrache station 10-15mins walk away and underground station across the road from the hotel in the square meant that access to most places was easy.
Scaffolding up around all of the hotel as refurbishments being carried out and workmen outside the windows. Breakfast at 25 francs is optional but expensive and can be obtained for a quarter of the price in Place Bellecourt opposite the hotel.
The location was excellent, right on Place Bellcour with easy acess to the old town.
We booked a suite which was beautiful. However at no point during booking were we told the exterior of the hotel was undergoing extensive renovations. The scaffolding obscured what would otherwise have been a wonderful view, that I can get over. What really irritated me was the fact we had to keep the curtains closed the whole time we were there as there were workmen right outside all our windows! It would have been nice to pop back to relax for a little while in the afternoon and take full advantage of such a lovely room however we were unable to do this
The professional and helpful team at the Le Royal make any stay memorable. This was my fourth stay at the property...needles to say, I'm a fan. Special mention for the Concierge this time. Thanks for a great restaurant recommendation.
Our stay was too short!
Great location, close to the subway station and the main sightseeing sites. The room was very confortable and clean, and the crew was very kind.
Internet was not included. You can only use for 24 hours and then you have to pay a daily fee. However, the wifi signal was terrible inside the room, and so was the speed. Breakfast was very expensive. You can have a good one nearby for more then half the price.
Location was excellent. Easy to walk to sights and restaurants. Had a suite which was very comfortable for a 5 night stay.
The reception staff were unwelcoming and seemed not very interested in their guests. Often on the phone, with no apology for the wait. Hotel exterior surrounded by scaffolding and some noise associated with the work.
I was not alerted to the fact that the hotel is currently a building site. A tired hotel in the process of being renovated, yet the prices befit a five star establishment. I feel cheated.
Staff were good but hotel undergoing refurbishment. Location was good but difficult to find due to traffic and parking. Room was good and well appointed. Close to restaurants and shopping.
We had limited time and it was hard to get around Lyon.
Close to restaurants shops and all that we needed
the opportunity to eat in house at the restaurant for the Bucasse school - excellent food and great service - a pleasure
nothing. We should have stayed and eaten in the 2nd night!!
Fabulous location. Elegance though somewhat faded
Ongoing daytime repair work
Perfect location, elegant (and sometimes kitsch) design, feeling of luxury throughout
breakfast buffet has a great homy feel to it atmosphere in the hotel is very grand - feels like a boutique grand hotel design of rooms was very individual with nice little details and romantic location is A+ right in the heart of Lyon
wifi a bit complicated and kept disconnecting construction (scaffolding) obstructing the views main restaurant (Paul Bocuse) was closed in the time we were there was able to see wear and tear in the room (paint coming off the doors, old bathroom)
Great rooms and Good location, plenty of shops and restaurants.
Currently renovating, starting from 7 am.
The common area salons, such as the bar and lobby are excellently decorated and furnished, creating a superb ambience of the past Belle Époque. The bedroom has a nice touch and decor. Very good location and our room was pleasantly quiet. The concierge was professional and made the valet parking most convenient.
Unfortunately two light blobs were out of order (bathroom and bed room. The reception acknowledged the complained, however due to the early evening report could not do anything about it as there was no technician on spot at that time any longer. Chief housekeeping should better check the details in the room as our wall lamps had a several month thick layer of dust on it. Should the hotel or the French Unions be blamed, remains open.
Perfect location. Very friendly staff with eye for detail.
The interior design, friendly staff
The renovation of the facade was not mentioned the moment of booking. That's not correct !
Location and furnishings
Initially we were given a small room with view over a small dark courtyard, even though we had personally requested 3 month earlier during a visit to the hotel a nice room with a view. After complaining, we were moved to a nicer room with a view, although partly obscured by scaffoldings!
I didn't see bad staff like that especially the lady was at the reception she was very rude and her attitude was very aggressive and the staff in the lounge they keep looking to your plate in unprofessional way and all of them couldn't smile I don't know why really it was a bad experience for me although I was very happy in grand hotel in nancy.
