This 3-star hotel is in the heart of Nice, in a pedestrian area just in front of Nice Etoile shopping center. Promenade des Anglais and the beach are a 10-minute walk away.
Score from 507 reviews Very good
The stylish beach front hotel is ideally located on the Promenade des Anglais, just over a quarter mile from the Vieux-Nice district and 1.5 miles from the Acropolis Congress Centre.

Score from 798 reviews Very good
Friendly staff , lovely room , marvellous balcony , we had really relaxing weekend , I would stay at the royal hotel again , lovely location .....
Sitting on the balcony watching all the activity on the Promenade. Having a drink under the orange tree on the bar terrace.
Towels and toiletries could be improved. There was a fridge but empty. No glasses or tea and coffee provided.
Location was excellent, view fantastic and staff were very friendly and helpful.
I got a surprise room with sea view when I checked in. Thank you Royal Hotel Staff !!
Breakfast not much choice. Mebbe coz its winter time
It is right across the street from the Cote D'Azur which is nice. Close enough to wheel luggage to the train station but the area between is pretty run down imo with lots of homeless men sleeping in doorways. Maybe that's what you expect in Nice but I was surprised. The restaurant was decent and the facade is great. The room was adequate.
The area nearby on the way to the train station isn't very clean or attractive. I was only there for one day so perhaps I didn't give it a chance but Nice itself did not impress me and I wouldn't go there again, that's no reflection on the hotel of course.
In front of de beach! Easy to get there. Very well located.
it looks like it's best years have passed some time ago.
Hotel room was clean, modern and spacious. Hotel reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We left out boarding passes and passports in the room when checking out and the cleaners handed this all in for us to reception.
Hotel reception lifts and corridors are old fashioned and need updating.
Removated room with sea view was excellant
Public rooms were poorly appointed by comparison wth the bedroom I had
Location is perfect. Better take upper floor and sea view.
there is some noise 24hrs everyday just beside my living room (sea view room)
You are on the Cote D'Azur do I need to say any more. Just a walk around the corner from where the hotel is located and you are in the hub of Nice, greeted by restaurants, cafes and bars eager to impress you and shops to entice you in spending as much of your money as you can. Nice has all the glamour that Paris does but also offers you the Mediterranean as it's playground. The Belle Epoque precinct will marvel you with its impressive real estate and surroundings; Matisse's gallery, the original Roman theatre and let's not forget the gardens, the Russian church. Nice is a city that flaunts eloquently its charm, culture, landmarks and art in order to remind you of her past and dazzle you with how present she is. The staffs at the hotel for the most part were very friendly and helpful.
I loved the hotel's old charm but as as far as the rooms are concerned they are in desperate need of an update. My first impression was OMG I'm in a hospital ward, and that feeling stayed with me the whole time. The hallways were stale as was the room we were occupying.
The staff was very nice. The location was beautiful and the breakfast just delicious.
The room was quite small and the bathroom had a shower, even if I had asked for a bath tube.
Prime location on the boulevard Friendly staff gave us an upgrade because the hotel was not full Fantastic views over the sea/beach Newly renovated rooms are very good for a 3*** hotel
Wifi login is not practical Decor of corridors and restaurant is dated
Best location. Beautiful hotel and nice staff.
Great Location WiFi worked Working lift
Breakfast worth €10, cost €15! Drinks in hotel quite dear, although typical. No tea/coffee facilities in room
Very close to marathon start line Able to check in early Good size room
No kettle in room
Good location (sea, close to downtown, good connectivity to airport) There are great spacious and modern rooms with magnificent sea view (pitty I didn't stay there)
- my room was dark (bad lighting) - bathroom walls need cleaning! - poor quality of room service (small pieces of broken glass were left on floor, shower gel was not refilled..) - concerns about breakfast (rotten pineaples, spoiled/ sour juice)
Everything! Due to adverse weather the airport was closed and our flight cancelled. Upon ringing and informing the hotel of this they were extremely helpful and had our room ready for us immediately. I couldn't recommend it and the staff highly enough!
Location, right on promenade next to bars and restaurants. Friendly service. Free wifi with good bandwidth.
Interior a bit dowdy in drab old fashioned colours. Gives dated appearance though bathroom was nice and modern. A little cheaper than other hotels in immediate area but no swimming pool. No English speaking channles on TV but loads of German, Italian, Austrian but hey I was in France and didn't go to watch TV. Breakfast and bar drinks very expensive so went out. Restaurant old fashioned with small number of options aimed from seeing the frequenters at older French customers. Shower dispenser was empty and shower tray overflowed after about 5 minutes which I had to report.
The location was very good. Just in a main street. Near to the city center, restaurants, casino etc.
Very old hotel. Towels and blankets very very old. The bed also.
Excellent location. A great looking hotel. The head barman was very friendly & chatty & the domestic staff were very nice.
Like all French hotels, the walls between rooms were paper-thin. I was kept awake most nights by the loud hum & clunking of what I think was the main air-conditioning unit in the back of the hotel. The reception staff were somewhat aloof.
It was a weekend of celebration and the hotel really helped me out Really friendly staff, perfect location to all aspects of Nice. The room with a picturesque sea view. Can't complain. Ps; as I proposed to me GF as a surprise they arranged our room so beautifully with flowers/champagne/balloons. For tht I give 20/10
Staff was friendly, location was excellent
Air conditioning in the room was very noisy. The hotel was worn out, once a posh hotel now carries the signs of time. Everything looks a bit old. No toiletries in the bathroom.
it is just a few step to the lovely beach, room is clean and big, price is reasonable
the bed sheet is broke, and blanket is a little dirty, a little bit far form Tram station, if you want to reach train station , you have to walk 15 minutes to the tram station
