Great location for the price. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were updated. I would recommend staying here if you a great location, are a solo traveler or a couple that doesn't need much space.
Front desk staff was okay, not fantastic. The breakfast was expensive for what you got.
Liked the decor Loved the location
Breakfast room pretty but small so had to wait for table V small room
Clean, helpful staff , nice location quite
small rooms ,
Excellent location, two blocks to Deux Magots and Église Saint Germain. The hotel room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful
Traditional feel with modern facilities
We chose Hotel Saint Germain Des Prez for our 3 day stay because of the charm it seemed to have looking at photos and of the good reviews. We were not disappointed as it was exactly as I was hoping for. Our first time in Paris so we wanted a hotel that had a true Parisian feel - not that we knew what that really is but we knew what was in our minds. We arrived much sooner than check in time and our greeter, (so sorry we did not catch his name) was very gracious and called to get our room prepared quickly and kept our luggage so we could go explore. Location is great! In one direction a short walk to the Louvre and in the other the heart of St. Germain with shops and cafes. After having our first Paris breakfast we returned to the hotel. The room was charming with beamed ceilings and seemingly old style wall paper. Yes the rooms are small but not a disadvantage at all. And really you are not in it much! We had a street view which was nice and noise was not an issue at all. But I think they collect the garbage daily so the truck comes along but come on - you are in Paris! No time for sleeping! They offer a daily breakfast buffet for extra charge which looked quite nice but we were only there for 3 days and chose to eat our meals outside at the cafes. The bathroom is modern and elegant with a rain shower. On departure day, Dominique held our luggage for us all day so we could enjoy our last adventures and we were not leaving until night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff and totally recommend it!!!
Limited use of wifi. You get 24 free hours (for our stay anyway) so we were not able to share all our exciting moments with family.
You cant go wrong here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are lovely, on the smaller side but thats what you should expect in Paris (& much of europe). Position is wonderful for history buffs, foodies, shopping, getting to other parts of the city. The rooms are clean and comfy the bathroom was clean. You really cant go wrong with a stay here.
Many wouldnt like the small lift and stairs - we were grateful for the lift.
rooms were cute although small. loved the boutique feel. location was great for me. quiet and beds were comfy although small..
some of the staff was very helpful, although one gentleman my last night there was RUDE! i was coming in late with a friend staying at another hotel and he told my friend who was standing at the door telling me goodbye, as I was leaving the next morning that he needed to leave. it was none of his business if I was having a conversation with this person and if I wanted to bring him up that is my prerogative. he wouldn't even allow him in the hotel. then... I asked for a cab the next morning at 7;15 sharp. he called me at 6:55 and said my cab was here. I informed him I was not ready and had requested a 7:15. he said ok. I walked down and checked out at 7:10 and when I walked out to my cab the same cab driver had been just sitting there with the fare running for 20 minutes and was already at 20 euros. I was LIVID to say the least. last but certainly not least.. i realized when I arrived that evening to barcelona that I had forgotten some of my clothing in the closet. I immediately emailed the hotel. No response. four days later I emailed the hotel again desperately. no response. I sent my friend by the hotel two days after that and they were not willing to even help. these were expensive clothes that I am 110% positive were left in my room so either the maid stole them or the hotel just wont give them to me. because of this I will not recommend the hotel and will continue to contact and complain until this is handled.
Ideal location for many tourist sites, good restaurant and bars nearby and the Hotel represented good value for money.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated, though small - we were told we had one of the largest rooms in the hotel! The breakfast was nice, served in the lounge on the ground floor past the front desk.
The lift was tiny, and the hallway from it to the room on the narrow side, but all was fine once we got the bags into the room. No parking - on a busy side street right off Blvd St. Germain - but of course it's Paris!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and close to the metro. The room was comfortable with good wifi connection.
The breakfast was just ok and was not included with the room.
a great hotel for a short city break. Warm and friendly staff - no fuss, no nonsense. Rooms were very charming
Close to various attractions, museums and restaurants, what's not to like. You feel both historically and culturally well located. Simple comforts.
Good location. Clean and service fine ans supportive. CloSe to all attractions and foid.
Excellent location in characterful town house type hotel furnished in baroque style. Attentive staff with nothing too much trouble.
Great location, lovely rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff
Wifi kept dropping out.
kind staff, location
location ambiance of decor bed was comfortable breakfast always fresh
Very nice staff, everyone so helpful, very clean. Nice breakfast, reasonably priced.
Street noise very early in the morning. SO LOUD, even with ear plugs!
I had a very small room at the top. Ceiling sloped and I had to constantly duck moving about. I'm 6'4" and the bed was extremely short. My feet hung over the end. Difficult to sleep.
The location, staff, decoration
Very comfortable overall. Great location in the heart of St-Germain. Good to walk to the Seine and across to right bank. Quiet room onto the street with double pane windows and complete blackout electric shade. No view as rue Bonaparte is narrow, which makes the room a bit dark. Bathroom has a small tub with an overhead shower and a glass partition. There is a small water kettle with instant coffee and tea bags in the room. Room is small but clean. You need to walk around your bags but otherwise room size is adequate by Parisian standards for a short stay. Friendly staff at reception, which is needed because of the one key drop off/pick up old fashion system. Flat screen TV with ample choice of English and other language channels.
No coffee/tea available in the lounge. Hotel should update the wallpapers and replace some of the furniture. It's romantic but a bit dated. Wifi is slow and with a complicated system/passcode that needs to be refreshed every time.
Location, bathroom, noon checkout
Small bed, room lighting system
Location and room style
Room was ready late by 15 h in stead of 13.
