Location great amongst some of the prettiest towns in Alsace. Our balcony overlooked vineyards as far as the eye could see and the hotel and room were charming. The restaurant was very good for regional cuisine and the continental breakfast generous.
Unfortunately Zellenberg was in upheaval with major drainage and road works - a temporary problem but it made parking more difficult. There were only 2 other options to dine in Zellenberg but Riquewihr is very close.
Room was amazing. Comfortable with everything you need. Memorable Breakfast Friendly, accommodating staff
Food in restaurant overpriced and little vegetarian option.
The location. The exterior of the restaurant and that of the hotel accommodation across the street.
The quality of the food was poor. The irritatingly large number of flies in the dining room.
We were traveling very late and the owner was waiting for us to arrive. The next morning, breakfast was across in a beautiful small room, and the chef and staff were wonderful. The hotel is part of a small area in Alsace, near Riquewhir and Ribeauville, and is well worth staying at for any trip on the wine route or for visiting the nearby areas.
This hotel is located in several buildings in the tiny village of Zellenberg. Not many tourists - it's quiet and charming. The inn keepers are wonderful and staying in a 17th century half-timbered house (that has been updated) was lovely. We were traveling with older children and they offered us our own building with only two rooms and views across the little street and out to the vineyards. There is plenty of parking in town either in the square or church yard.
The reception is a little hard to find for a first time visitor - go to the restaurant and call into the kitchen for the inn keepers.
The friendly staff, the breakfast also was delicious.
I didn't realise it was quite such a small village with no shops, although that's not the hotel's fault.
This is a beautiful hotel in a charming village. It is walking distance from the bigger village of Riquewihr, where we found several restaurants and wine bars. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and had a balcony with amazing views of the vineyards. It was a great place to relax after a day out and about.
The Wi-Fi signal was very poor. Breakfast was expensive for what we received.
The view front our room was really nice.
The owner (the man not his wife she was actually quite nice) yelled at me in French and throw our breakfast across the restaurant in front of my 2 & 3 year old children. I was shocked and never learned the reason for this explosion of anger (because it was all in French). A friend of ours had warned us about how mean he was and I wish we would have listened to their warning. The experience ended our trip on a sour note. Also, the hotel is in the centre of a town but it is an empty town with nothing in it but local apartments and this hotel. There are so many great places to stay in Alsace please do not submit yourself to this extreme lack of hospitality.
I love this place which is almost 500 years old. The hotel is like a piece of art, beautiful french style interior. The croissant at breakfast was absolutely delicious and host was also very kind... I would like to visit someday again!!
Location, room, owner/chef and wife, good food, lovely breakfast.
The hotel is set is an unspoilt Alsace wine village but, very close to more famous villages, notably Riquewehr which is just 2 km) away Parking was available in the village. We received a friendly welcome and were offered a coffee. The breakfast room was in typical old Alsace style and there was also a small lounge area. The room itself was very clean.
Our room was very small although okay for one night. The breakfast was good but a bit expensive for what it was.
Owners was very welcoming with a. Glass of Wine for US. Queit Kittle Town was ver y cite nut not much to see but well located to go off to more interesting we ate there that night and the food was great.
Room was tiny and the shower almost too small for a normal sized person. Hard to load and unload the car as the street is so narrow you must block all traffic. Fortunately there isn't much!
Rooms were very clean, people were friendly
The food was way to expensive no value for money at all,
Small but charming as cozy
A bit small
Charming hotel with good restaurant in a very convenient location.
The mattresses could be more soft. For being in Alsace, I was surprised the breakfast consisted largely of commercial products rather than from local farms.
quiet town away from crowds, but close to Riquewihr, friendly hosts
meals and room overpriced, but good
Very nice owners Superb quiet location near the vineyards Food & wine Free parking nearby Free wifi
