If your a seasoned snob do not look here , if your a seasoned ski / boarder this hotel is perfect in every way , warm , clean ,breakfast was perfect with plenty of choice, perfect location for town and 2 short buses ( if you wish ) to lifts or 5 mins walk . The room we had was a twin decor a little dated but not cosy . We would book again and again .
Situation 7 min walking distance from the main ski lift Price
The hotel attendants were quite cold and when asked for a recommended restaurant, we got not advice. No smiles. We asked for a quiet room and got a room which has probably the biggest exposition to the street which is not a quiet one and we were woken up by cars passing by under our windows at 7am.
location cleanliness ambiance
Close to the bus stop Friendly helpful staff Good evening meals Excellent wifi Good value for money
The cooked breakfast option was the same every day (scrambled egg and sausage) and it was never hot.
Best location v near town but not noisy. Close to slopes. Lovely helpful people. Good room. Excellent value and nice restaurant
Beds were a little uncomfy
Food, WiFi, Service, location.
Bed was a little cheap.
We stayed at the Soly for two weeks this August and we would do it again. You pay for a three star hotel but you get a lot more for your money. Staff are very helpful and kind, food is good, tasty and in great quantity. Location could not be better. Our room never felt too small and we enjoyed the balcony and river view. And you get a heated pool! We would now love to try it in the Winter!
There was nothing we didn't like, and if there would have been, I am sure the hosts would have sorted it out efficiently!
The staff were friendly and helpful The coffee The breakfast
The beds The décor The noise The room size The price The dripping cistern The bedding The pillows The shower No tea making facility in the room
The breakfast was very good and the public rooms were pleasant. It was just a short walk from the centre of Morzine. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The decor in the bedroom was rather "tired" and the bedding was winter weight with no alternative eg blankets.
I have stayed at this hotel twice now and would definitely return again. I cannot fault the hotel, it has everything you would need with such friendly people.
very helpfull staff but they also let you get on with your stay and do not get in the way
The owners were very helpful. When we arrived our room felt cold and they gave us a fan heater. The water was always hot for showers. The bed comfortable, and although no duvets only blankets. It was nice and warm. Lovely view of river from room. Boot storage room was great. Bus stop very close two minutes walk. Excellent value for the type of accommodation. Would stay again.
On entry to hotel there was an awful smell, like fuel burning. Thankfully it wasn't in the bedroom. It would be good if the Towells were changed it was bearable as we were only there there four nights. Hot breakfast was cold so we kept to the cold meats and cereal. There was fresh bread every morning. meats and cereal. Had to ask for the water for tea to be hotter.
Excellent location to village and buses for lifts, staff friendly good breakfast and facilities. Great value for the time we booked.
Beds absolute rubbish, well in our room at least. Can be a bit noisey on the traffic front though your not there to sleep in.
Quick efficient check-in. Had asked for a quiet room in advance - don't know if it had any effect but we got a quiet room overlooking the stream out the back. Room clean tidy and functional. Mattresses new and very comfortable. Excellent Breakfast had a good choice. Bread, toast, cheese, ham, eggs. Also croissants, cereals, fruit, cake etc. Decaff coffee also available.
Rooms have had some recent attention but still a little tired. Plastic mattress protector has only a thin topping and thus makes you feel damp.
I travelled as a solo traveller meeting friends for two days, was a bit worried as I was arriving late at night, but after a phonecall my mind was put to rest as the lady explained how to get the key...the room was all I needed, clean and bathroom was pretty roomy with a large bath and shower head....I opted for breakfast and it had everything I needed with a great strong coffee to wake me up before hitting the slopes.....the bus stop to the plenny lift is two minutes up the road....I did stumble in late on my second night with my ski boots on, but the owner helped me with my skis...and just smiled in the morning as I think I was rather tipsey.....I felt safe as a solo female traveller and will definitely book again...don't expect five star, but do expect a comfortable, friendly safe place to stay, bedding was clean and cosy rooms warm and the sound of the river was really relaxing...also the owner was kind and gave me a lift to another chalet when I was leaving to share a transfer bus as finding a taxi on a Saturday was rather difficult...
Good points: Breakfast and breakfast staff -Very good Overall cleanliness of hotel good Location - good/easy 10 mins walk to lifts.
Points for improvement: Reception never manned Room / bathroom poor, old and not representative of internet photos TV small and poor choice for UK guests
Such friendly staff, a real family run B&B close to the slopes. Plus they have Mutzig on tap!
The rooms are pretty dated and in need of some renovation, but for the price you really cannot complain.
Very clean, good location, everything that you need for a good ski base.
The staff, although pleasant were not exactly engaging, they could have been a lot more enthusiastic and then we would have spent more time in the bar and restaurant which would have generated more income for them!
Top breakfast nice room but a bit far from ski lift
The bathroom and bed and room were nice and clean. The wifi was a bit poor and had to have a ticket for each device. was handy being able to keep our luggage while waiting few hrs for our transfer. good value for money i think this hotel deserves a little bit more credit.
Good clean, value for money accomadation only a few minute walk from shops, bus stops, bars & restruants. Would stay there again.
Comfortable. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Very good value for money option. Great breakfast and very good evening meal. Clean comfortable and helpful staff.
Hotel food - superb service and 5 courses every night including a fondue night. Location - Two minutes walk from bus stop which dropped you off outside main lift and bus brought you home each night, Pleasant 10 minute walk into centre each evening for drinks at bars. Excellent boot room with plenty of space and warmers for boots access from inside hotel. Lovely charminf french family run hotel - not rowdy and pleasant atmosphere in breakfast and evening meal - we will certainly return.
Clean, warm and good location. Easy walking access to city centre and main lift
