great quiet location
no wifi in the gites
The dinner was quite superb, really delicious. The service exemplary, we'd recommend it without hesitation. The room was very nice, the beds comfortable.
The soap, shampoo etc in the bathroom, a bit mean, for 1 person not 2. The pretty little piece of soap was attractively wrapped but IMPOSSIBLE to open without a knife!
Quiet country setting, only a short drive/10 minute walk to Rocamadour.
No information in the room - tourist info, restaurant menus, what to do for breakfast etc..
Very helpful manager - Franck Good location Comfortable room Excellent food Good breakfast
Reception closed 12 -3.30pm.
Gosh, where to start? Initially the location with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Peaceful and quiet. One approaches via a quiet country road, through gates and up a long drive. The building itself, really quite ancient, beautifully restored, window boxes and a carefully tended garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful, showing us to our room in the second floor. A verandah runs along the outside with each room being allocated and table and two chairs where you can enjoy views over the countryside and the swimming pool. The room was very comfortable, with a superb bathroom and separate toilet. Nighttime was blessed with a bright moon shining through the trees and owls hooting. Dinner was a most unique experience. Under the wonderful old yew tree, with fairy lights. The service was impeccable and the food outstanding. Michelin standard. Most importantly to us too was that our dogs were made welcome, that includes when we had our evening meal. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
Having to leave after only one night.
The decor in the room and no shower!!!
This was an amazing hotel. Very friendly staff and the restaurant was spectacular. We traveled all over France and Spain and had the best meal of our trip at the restaurant in the hotel!
We like everything!
A piece of paradise. Beautiful location and apartment with view over open countryside. Good pool, even with frog (as in amphibian!) visitor! Very clean and nice rooms. Good beds. One of the nicest places we have stayed in France. Would definitely return.
Nothing of importance
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, great cuisine. Considerate allocation of an upgrade as the other suites were not in use.
Twin beds, old bedding.
Great dinner! Best we had in the area. Nice area to walk. The grounds surrounding the place are nice for a walk.
Rooms felt dusty and bit aged. Beds were too soft. Internet was not good.
nice hotel in a lovely location the swimming pool was nice to come back too after a day out
Lovely setting in old French farmhouse - a beautiful place to come home to at the end of the day and have a nice swim. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food was delicious - authentic French food that did not resemble the tourist fare that is found in the town of Rocamadour!!
I thought the breakfast could have had a little more choice
The location of the hotel was quite good for the exploration of the surroundings
We had especially booked an apartment (including a kitchen) to be more independent. We didn`t use the kitchen for any cooking. But just to make some hot water for tea the owner wanted to charge 40 Euros per day. We thought that was quite inapropiate. Then the owner became furious and even abusive. Quite unusual for a hotel ownner to his guests. The walls between our apartment and the adjacent were so thin we could hear the conversations of our neighbours and their TV
Everything and the food was exceptional. Friendly staff, setting lovely, will try again in Summer.
No complaints at all!
very welcoming hosts good regional food warm environment
Secure country location but walkable into Rocamadour (20 mins). Good resto at the hotel - on the expensive side but well executed dishes. Non-hotel resident locals and ex-pats also eat here - a good sign. Friendly and accommodating owner (see dislikes). Having seen the location of other hotels, this is definitely the place to stay unless you like non-stop crowds of tourists and your car being scraped.
The flies - it was a nice day when we arrived so I left my poolside room door open to try to air the musty smell from the room (that never quite went away). Next time I checked there were around 50-100 flies in the room. I asked monsieur if he had a fly spray I could borrow. "Ah, you left your door open". He promptly arrived with a vacuum cleaner and got rid of the lot without a shred of rancour - good service.
Picturesque location and beautifuly designed rooms. Good restaurant, very good food.
Beds are good quality but too short and uncomfortable if you are tall > 5'10" (177cm approx)!
Very friendly staff. I do recomend have a dinner at the restaurant (very good food), good breakfast, nice place e quite clese to Rocamadour
It was very good
Beautiful location in peaceful countryside, with a lovely swimming pool for the hot days. Family run hotel and English is spoken by at least one of them as he worked in Ireland. Very friendly staff, and the cuisine is superb.
It's a longish walk to the town if you wish to eat and drink there. (Don't drink and drive!)
This was just a beautiful stop. The hotel is run by a family who has completely built it up since 1982. It shows as a labor of love. The room was clean, comfortable and appointed in country furniture. They have their own dining room where we had a wonderful dinner and breakfast. In a country setting, it was relaxing and a short distance from Rocomandour.
