I am a long term fan of the Valmarin as it is perfectly situated for visiting St Malo and the surrounding area in a beautiful and peaceful park garden setting. It is also a very useful overnight stop with off road parking when starting or finishing a driving holiday in France. I have been visiting the hotel periodically for 20 years and am always well looked after |

Staff were very helpful with no language problem. Good continental breakfast buffet. Off road parking. Not easy to find - be sure to get clear directions. We were on the second floor, involving 48 stairs and 2 heavy cases. |

The hotel is in a great location, the Décor while not to our tastes, was well decorated in what I would call a period fashion. the garden was a quiet and space, with WiFi throughout the hotel and into the garden it was very easy to find out where to go and what to see and of course keep in touch with the outside world. The staff were friendly and spoke English well if you need them to but they were patient if you wanted to speak French (or try to) and finally St Malo is a great place to visit. Unfortunately the bed we had, was small, at 5'7"I have never had a problem fitting before! the WiFi was great to have, I just don't like paying for it in this day and age, but the pricing wasn't too bad. (10€ for 5 hours). The breakfast was better than most continental breakfasts I have had, and the croissants were defiantly the largest I have ever seen but at 11€ the price was a little steep, and as with previous reviews, it didn't seem to be an option.( to be fair we didn't ask not to have it,) I feel it would be better advertised as Bed & Breakfast with the price included. Cost wise, this hotel is higher than we would normal look at paying, but it seems to be inline with other hotels in the area, (without including the breakfast). |

The family room was very spacious and clean. Good secure car park included in the tariff. Hotel close to good restaurants. The breakfast was very limited, no variety. The fruit was past the point of being edible. Be aware that breakfast in high season is compulsory at an additional cost of 11 euros per person. |

The hotel looks wonderful in the brochures and on the internet pictures. In reality it is old and musty smelling without ambience. The owners have taken pains to decorate the place with matching fabrics, etc., the bed was comfortable enough and the owners tried to be helpful in setting up our laptop. Booking.com stated the internet was free, but it was not. However, the owners gave us 5 hours free after we complained. The cont. b/kfast was additional 12 Euros and not worth it., so we had it only one morning. The dining room looked pretty, but was cold. Parking was in back of the hotel, through iron gates and down a narrow passage which was a feat to navigate. The garden was very pretty. It was a total disapointment. From the moment we arrived, we wanted to leave and go elsewhere- the owners said we coud not because it was booked through the internet. We stayed the 2 nights and it wasn't so bad. They were helpful with directions and dinner reservations, etc., However, compared to other hotels we stayed aton this trip to France this hotel was our lowest rated. |

Room was large and spacious and could accomodate a family of five comfortably. There were sitting areas and games available (good for older children). The furnishings were period and lovely. Staff had maps available and were fluent in both French and English. The hotel staff said they normally didn't rent rooms during summer unless breakfast (11 Euros per person) was taken at the hotel. The website rate did not reflect that extra cost as a requirement. |

The car parking is good and safe, and the gardens were lovely. Despite the information stating that breakfast was an extra, I was told we had to have breakfast. |

The hotel had character and was set in lovely grounds close to the sea.. The light blue decor throughout gave an impression of peace and tranquillity, light and space. The rooms were huge and extremely comfortable. The private parking facility was a real asset as was the proximity to good restaurants. |

The hotel was a real oasis in the main town, extremely quiet with beautiful gardens and very stylish rooms with a grand charm. The staff were welcoming and helpful at all times. |

"Oh it really was a very pretty garden!" For those who know the song, this is very apt! The room that we were given is on the top floor, very hot, airless, noisy from passing traffic and "past it's best"! |

it is really charming, atmospheric beautiful despite at the time we booked the hotel it was stated the internet access was free, it was not; we told that to the reception staff showing the booking confirmation that stated that and despite that they refuse to let us the free internet access or a kind of compensation; i think that it was a cheap behavior from them, cause they could have gave us some free internet access time; it's a pity... |

Nestled in a 6-hectare park only a 5-minute drive from the beach, the Château Hôtel Du Colombier dates back to the 18th century and combines historical charm with modern comforts. |
The Oceania Saint Malo hotel is located on the beachfront, opposite the Sillon Beach. It offers luxurious rooms and an outdoor jacuzzi. Guest rooms at the Oceania are modern and air-conditioned. |
