The balcony was very nice. The hotel was very close to the centre and the station.
There was NO door between the bedroom and the bathroom. Felt very uneasy - actually, really disliked it!
Location, views, pool, style, comfort and value for money (particularly in this area)
- connecting rooms is 2 rooms not a room with 2 sleeping areas and 1 bath room - cheap -not a value for the money 300 e/ night, not breakfast included - pool closing at 18h30
Location, terrace views, swimming-pool, parking
Restaurant waiters were very poor customer service oriented, rooms were old though clean
We love it. clean, pas cher, good location! And the staff are really nice andfriendly! We'll come back!
The location and the view.
Noisy Poor quality for breakfast Poor amenities Not so clean Too expensive for what it is
Needs Update and more discreet staff. Rooms are small and noisy.
The view, pool, and location was nice. It was a good place to be based out of but not spend the day.
We had the connecting rooms. The toilet, sink and giant rain shower are all in the same GLASS enclosed area. The rain shower soaks the whole bathroom which makes it very inconvenient for the rest of the guests trying to get ready. The toilet is exposed to the rooms. Why on earth this would be designed this way for the joined bedrooms- I still cant understand. The hallway is very loud, you can hear your neighbors coming and going. The "do not disturb" sign meant nothing at 8 am cleaning time. On the weekends, the restaurant (located right above the room) was a club with "club like" music and lights until early morning. The "concierge" was little help with area attractions. And, while there is free parking, it's difficult to maneuver. If you care about wifi- or rely on it- this is not the place for solid connectivity. This is an okay place to store your bags and try to sleep. But not to relax. Use it as a "home-base" while exploring the area.
The location, the view and the food
On the day of my departure after settling my bill I noticed I had been charge 136 Euros for a meal that I did not have. I pointed this out to the receptionist, who said she could not do anything at present, as Madame La Chatalaine was not present but that I would receive a refund on my return home. I am still waiting after over 3 weeks. I sent an e-mail to them but I received no reply. This spoiled the whole experience for me
Excellent situation with wonderful views. Food good
Smokers on next balcony.
Views, views, views Food Breakfast terrace Bar and lounge area Good staff
Not much. Restaurant and bar closed Monday and Tuesday was only issue
the view was amazing, loved looking over the bay. Wished we had eaten at the restaurant, it had a lovely view.
The shower in our room didn't have a cover or curtain, so you couldn't use it without getting water all over everything.
Everything: convenient location, plenty of parking, superb view, cleanliness, decor, comfort of bed, renovated and nicely decorated room and bathroom, nice private balcony with sea view, nice pool and deck, friendly staff. I can't recommend this hotel enough. For 140€ /night in high season this is as inexpensive and awesome as it gets, especially considering the high standards it offers. We spent almost 3 days here and would definitely stay here again. The room is simple but very clean and nicely furnished, it has a wooden floor and the bedding and pillows are comfortable. The bathroom has been recently renovated and even though I read some reviews complaining about the old repainted bathtubs,I have to say I 'm glad they kept them instead of a modern walk-in shower...Would you trade a romantic afternoon spent cuddling in the arms of your significant other soaking in a bathtub filled with hot water ,with a walk -in shower??? I wouldn't...Also,you can enjoy the magnificent sea view of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat from any corner of the room, including when you're standing in the bathroom, taking a shower or brushing your teeth. If you want to make some happy romantic memories you'll never forget, then book this hotel without any hesitation.
The rooms are not sound-proof and some light is shed through the door frame. That didn't prevent from sleeping but you may very well be awaken rather early in the morning by the noise coming from the corridor or adjoining rooms.
Poor wi fi
The view from all rooms is amazing. The rooms, although not luxurious, are very comfortable. Buses to Nice, Cap Ferrat and Monaco stop right outside.
The hand held showers - hard not to flood the bathroom!
Hotel has a nice lookout over the bay of Villefranche. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Will go back again.
No fridge in the room. Had to ask every evening for ice cubes at the bar.
Position, the welcome, the facilities
It was all good
The View is very good with a balcony.
The room is small and the not enough space. I booked a room same as a double bed room. But the size is smaller than the others. There were few options of the breakfast. And the parking space is not enough.
Location excellent - 15 minute walk to the front where there are some good Restaurants . Lovely view.
Our room was immediately below the Restaurant and was noisey until 1.30 AM Saturday night. Better on the other 2 nights .
The view from the room is nice but not enough to save the hotel. Staff were kind enough to let us cancel at no fee after 1 night.
Very unattractive from outside, rooms are basic and not of 3* quality. No loungers at pool available. Very noisy. If you stay on 4th floor you will hear the bar being cleared till 1am then set up from 7am. Whole place needs renovated.
The hotel is beautifully situated and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are great.
The rooms are a bit small if you are travelling with two children but it is tolerable for a short stay.
The view is excellent.
Parking is tight in the car park. That's about it
Villefranche-sur-Mer is a beautiful surprise just outside Nice, couldn't recommend more. Excellent transport links to both Nice and Monte Carlo/Cannes and around the riviera. All hotel rooms overlooking the bay, which is awesome. Very clean, although otherwise simple facilities. Nice little pool to relax by.
The only real downside of the hotel is the paper-thin walls. We were there right before season, when not too many guests stayed at the hotel, and it was still a nuisance to hear conversations from adjacent rooms. I imagine in high season this could be quite annoying. But if you don't care about this sorta thing, you'll love both the hotel and the location.
A good value for Villefranche. The pool was very lively and fun. It's a short walk to the heart of the village. The pool cafe had tasty food.
Not quite in the heart of it all. We are pretty sure our car was hit in the parking lot. The property has surveillance cameras but they don't have past recordings (even less than 24 hours).
No beds at pool all reserved by guests for hours and not being used Very basic room for a suite
