Although physically hard to find, it was worth the effort. Beautiful old restored stone building; small, tastefully decorated rooms; nice pool and patio...absolutely wonderful food. The owners were very nice and very helpful.

We had booked an overnight stay to break a long journey from Spain to Switzerland. Le Pre Galoffre is a family run hotel situated on the outskirts of Nimes. Pleasant reception area, helpful staff. Room on first floor, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom small but well eqipped; hairdryer available at reception. Lovely continental breakfast; fresh croissants, rolls and fruit together with very good coffee and various tea infusions. We would like to make a special point about their service: after we settled the bill for our overnight stay, they gave us both the receipt and the printout, but not the credit card we had used. We continued our journey to Switzerland and once we realised our card was missing, we called the hotel..... They apologised and had already placed the card in their safe. They had attempted to call, however, being unable to contact us they tried to contact booking.com. We asked them to hold the card for us until we were able to return four days later. Upon our return, we collected the card and they gave us a complimentary mini breakfast and apologised for their ommission.

Comfy room with quality soap. Large bathroom. Decorated bedroom with a chair and a stool. Location within 5 min drive to area malls. Interesting setting, and old stone building with thick walls, a nice staircase from lobby to upper floor, protected parking under tall trees. Nice breeze thru the window on the tree side in october. Evening shift was helpful after enquiring, but there was basically no check-in info on anything like Wifi, tv, and yes, the code u need to open the portal in the night. Bad for ur back, but not too narrow stairs to upper floor. Very bad for ur trolley, mine got minor wheel damage: too long pebbled access from car to reception. Why don't they let u use the broad left side of the building for cars? Tarmac with space for a number of cars, and fewer pebbled meters from there. Breakfast: there are actually two options, 10 or 5 Euro, but why does it nowhere say so? In the morning u will not be actively greeted by the distanced manager whose main concern seems to be that she maintain her superior air.

This is a really lovely hotel, well-designed, in a peaceful countryside location, about 15 minutes South of Nimes. We enjoyed drinks by the large pool and good, large buffet breakfasts. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is just far enough away from Nimes and other towns that it was inconvenient to find another place for dinner. The hotel serves a set menu dinner for 25 euros, 3 courses, but they do not announce the menu in advance! The food may be excellent, but we didn't try it , partly because my husband is not very adventurous (doesn't like lamb or duck for example). So, we had our main meal at noon in Nimes or Aigues- Mortes, and bought sandwiches and fruit to eat for dinner by the pool or in our room.

The hotel was small and friendly. We chose it because of its location outside Nimes, but it was very difficult to find at first. You also need to know that they lock the gates at 8pm, so if you are going to arrive late, you should contact them. The room was not large, but pretty, although there wasn't really anywhere to sit other than on the bed. The hotel does have a restaurant, but it is a fixed menu with no choice. Being a vegetarian, it didn't suit me. There was no other restaurant open within walking distance, so it meant a car journey into Nimes to find some food.

Le Pre Galoffre is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. It is out in the country surrounded by beautiful trees, it is stunning. We had planned to stay a week but we were not used to driving in France and could not find our way back into Nimes. We became very frustrated and returned our rental car after 3 days and went back to Paris and the metro! Other then that we truely enjoyed our vist there and would recommend it to anyone. There was absolutely nothing about the hotel itself that we did not like. Our problem was we kept getting lost and couldn't find our way back into Nimes which we wanted to use as a hub to visit other places in the area.

The hotel was well maintained, attractive and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the evening which was very good and far exceeded our expectations for such a hotel. The room was a little on the small side but as we were only staying for one night it was not a problem - might be different on a longer stay. During the night, around 3am, there was very loud music (possibly from nearby campsite) which woke us up.

I really appreciated the location of Le Pre Galoffre as it is in the countryside but really close to two really nice towns (Nimes & Arles) and the bulding is really nice. But the best thing over there is the Hotel staff (the owners), they are very nice and available. They will help you with anything and propose you a lot of things to do if you ask them. To summarize , I strongly recommand Le Pre Galoffre

the hotel itself, very pretty, comfy charming, staff is very nice from the owner to the cleaners. Very nice smells all around and well quiet. the breakfats wasnt as good at 10 am as it was at 8am, while they are serving until 10.30am. Less marmelade, bread, orange juice etc. lack of details for night entries

The hotel was excellent on all fronts, great room with french doors onto a small private patio with table and chairs. Very good breakfast eaten outside under the shade next to the pool. Had an excellent evening meal (no choice so ask before in case it is not to your taste), we had a risotto followed by melt in the mouth tuna stake and finished off with home made creme brulee. The location was good just 10 minutes drive into Nimes. The hotel next door (which some people have complained about) was used for a wedding party while we were there so everything looked ok. As for security about parking (which concerned some people) the gates at the end of the drive closed at 8.00 and we were given a code to get back in - no hassle and very secure. Would recommend to anyone.

On the one hand a charming clean, boutique-style hotel in a quiet location ran by very friendly and helpful people. On the other hand a little like ‘Faulty Towers’. There is a general lack of guest information and attention to detail, which can makes ones stay less relaxed than it ought to be. The non-existence of a guest info pack in the room doesn’t help. So no explanation of: 1.the evening meal procedure (timings, menu, choices, price). 2. lunch (there isnt any) 3. wi-fi (connection of which is intermittent), 4. late evening / night access and main gate closure, 5. emergency procedures, 6. the next door hotel is and whether and facilities there can be used - given that both hotels are virtually joined at the hip. Also: No apparent night porter on duty – what happens if there is a problem during the night? Hot water supply sporadic. Faulty or very poor aircon in one room, so we moved to another, where the aircon didn’t work at all! No attempt was made to rectify this during our 4 night stay. No views: The hotel is a long narrow converted barn building. Rooms on one side look directly out on to the side of another building. Rooms on the other side look directly at the side of a very high leylandii-type hedge. This is full of mosquitos and bugs which fly into your room when the windows are open (given that the aircon didn’t work!). No nets or shutters on windows, so you have to keep the curtains shut in downstairs rooms to remain private. No room fan. No mirror in the rooms. Set meals are OK, but there is no menu or choice and no mention of price! So you don’t know what you’re going to get unless you ask. There is a very pleasant small pool, but no towels and no drink, snack or lunch service. Given the remote location of the hotel this means that you need to travel out of the hotel for some miles to find something to eat and drink during the day if you spend it by the pool. Again there is no explanation of this! Only limited French TV channels. They do have satellite TV, so why not include a few foreign channels? In conclusion not a bad place, but more care and attention should be given to guests’ needs.

The room was clean. Very, very difficult to locate. They have no address which makes it even more difficult. There is a set menu - no choices - just one. You eat poolside, which would be fine except for the bugs which left welts all over my arms and legs even though I wore long sleeved pants and shirt. During dinner service, they ran out of salmon and served my husband and I mullet over watery peas and chunks of overcooked potatoes disgusting! I could have forgiven it if they didn't try to pass it off without even saying a word to us. It may seem like a bargain - but it isn'T. Save yourself - don't go here!!
