On the seafront in Saint-Malo, the Hotel Ambassadeurs is just half a mile from the center of town and the TGV train station.
Score from 576 reviews Wonderful
This was our second visit to Les Charmettes, the hotel is ideally situated on the promenade only a short walk away from the Intra Muros. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and the breakfast delicious, especially the setting of the dining room overlooking the sea. Close to the ferry port which is an added bonus.
Great location on the sea front with easy cycling access to the town. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Perfect location from ferry port and for visiting St Malo.
lovely position on beach
Restaurant didn't open abd the bar closed early, the bar man was more interested in young ladies at the bar than other customers
Loved this little hotel. Beautiful location, right on beach. Few mins drive from centre of St Malo. Gorgeous little terrace to have a drink, some food or take breakfast overlooking the stunning view. Fantastic value. We stayed in a four bed family room that was clean and quiet, with comfortable beds and lots of space. We will stay again. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Excellent location, fronting onto promenade behind beach, about 30 minutes' pleasant walk from St.Malo's walled city. Room very comfortable with good ensuite facilities, and quiet (in annex behind main hotel building) despite being on ground floor. Plenty of nearby options for eating out. Lock-up garage for storing our bicycles overnight. Reception staff very friendly.
Slightly surprised to be charged standard €5 car parking charge for our bicycles, but we did have 4 of them in a lock-up overnight so this was fair enough. Didn't try breakfast, having heard poor reports from other reviewers.
Comfy beds, all had a good sleep. Responsive staff when tv remote wasn't working.
Very out dated, brown bed covers that we're stained, felt dusty & a bit dirty. Cobwebs around ceiling and other coves. Smelt musty. Entrance mat disintegrating as so old. Very basic for the price. We paid € 125 for family of four.
Direct access to the beach and an easy seaside walk to the Intra-Muros. Friendly lady in reception and good value parking. Room was basic but had everything we needed.
We didn't take breakfast as €9.50 per person seemed expensive.
Lovely position by the beach walkway, great breakfast - the best coffee!, friendly place
WiFi wasn't working, it was a problem at the time, but I used their desktop, so ok. Very short stay
We were very fortunate to stay at the hotel as it was the last leg of a mini jazz festival at Charmettes. The atmosphere, great jazz, wonderful food, fantastic staff including chef, manager and waiter all set on the terrace facing the seafront made it an unforgettable experience.
situated right on the sea walk back into town, great for a stroll after supper
room was very small and breakfast pretty basic, even by French standards
It was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Even Swan the dog had a very waggy tail to welcome us. We booked the quadruple family room which was ample for us. The bathroom was well equipped and very clean and tidy. Very good location as right on the beach front and not very far from the Ferry port. Would definitely stay there again on our next visit to France.
Nothing, it was excellent for what we needed.
Very friendly staff, fantastic location on the seafront promenade, only 10 minutes from the ferry port. Terrace bar provides a great vantage point from which to enjoy the extraordinary display of the sea at high tide, with waves crashing over the promenade. Good continental breakfast.
Triple room was a little small and lack of air-con made for something of a hot and airless night. Continental breakfast was somewhat overpriced.
we were not in the main hotel and I found our building and room gloomy and a bit depressing. The price of the room did not reflect this. It is only a 2*hotel so I guess this is reflected
We have stayed at this hotel before. The location is good overlooking the promenade to the beach and sea. Small but perfectly formed. A nice 10-15 min stroll from St Malo city walls. Ample parking.
On both stays our room has been great but not large so for more than 1 night this might not suit everyone.
An excellent location on the beach and promenade that will take you to the old town of St Malo. The rooms are clean and the family room quite spacious.
There are no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room which would be nice because you cannot get a cup of coffee after 8.oo anywhere!
The two buildings are really neat looking and the location can't be beat. It is right on the beach boardwalk. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. A phenomenal place to eat and drink as the sun sets over St. Malo.
The rooms are pretty small and the decor is a little dated. Now to be fair, there were three of us friends. This would be less of a complaint if I was there with a significant other.
cleanliness, service, staff, ambience, location, attitude of all folk...
Décor was nice, pretty; fabrics could've been a bit lighter...prettier. The initial grey made the room gloomy. A kettle for a cup of tea or coffee, especially when you're leaving early.
Location, off street parking, snack bar overlooking beach
Small bed, not too clean room, tired paint and furnishings
The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location on the beach with a beachfront terrace is wonderful. We love walking and Saint Malo's beachfront promenade makes it a pleasant walk to town.
On the sea front. Easy walk into St Malo. Friendly bar staff.
The staff were very friendly. The view from the breakfast room was lovely, as was the view from the restaurant in front.
On waterfront, fabulous views and welcoming hospitality .
No elevator. Would have liked tea/coffee facilities in room.
Wonderful location on the beach with a bar, where you can drink your wine with a sea view. Very stylish and polished Francoise, reception lady (and I suppose, the owner), who is charming and very welcoming. A cat and a dog live in the hotel, so you will have fun, playing with them. The hotel is situated in 15-minutes walking distance from the old town, and 5-minutes walking distance from Thermes Marines
The hotel consists of 2 buildings, and there is no WiFi in the distant house (with garden view). You have to go to a living-room of the main building to use Internet. Breakfast is very poor, compared to other french hotels where we stayed
Freindly staff, location,
100 m from the beach, great location, near to old town, nice staffs. Good value for money
A bit old rooms
