Les Florentines

Great rooms and great breakfast, very close to the old city.

Be prepared if you can't climb long stairs since this is an old house. Also the top room has a wooden floor and if you're below it you'll hear all the squeaks from the wood.

Hotel rooms with a view looked great. Those without, not so great. Only thing to see in carcasonne is the castle so if you can't see it its a bit average

We had the top bedroom with 2 amazing balconies and spectacular views of Carcassonne including the castle. The location is truly unbeatable, close to the old castle but also a short walk across the old bridge into st Louis bastide. A nice continental breakfast - very fresh, very French. Useful tea and coffee facilities in room.

No door on the en-suite of the top bedroom! There was no privacy for using the wc or shower facilities - awful! The bathroom was immaculately clean but still smelled of drains. Also very poor soundproofing makes this a bad place to stay if you are a light sleeper - you can hear the other guests in their rooms.

Location to fortress, and right next to several wonderful restaurants with reasonable costs. Excellent breakfast with several choices offered. Coffee was much better than usual French coffee. View from the windows unto part of the fortress was a treat at night and in the morning. Walking distance to bridges for view of entire fortress, lit up at night. Shampoo, soap, hair dryer were supplied and the room was spotless. Madame was very helpful with touring ideas and restaurants. An excellent value overall.

the steps would be difficult to manage for older persons as there are many and spiral. ask for rooms on lowest level. If we had packed more carefully, we would have saved several trips. Les Florentines is worth the steps however.

Les Florentines is in a street of interesting and reasonably priced restaurants. It is also within easy walking stance of the old city - albeit virtually straight up! Brigitte was a friendly and helpful hist and took pride in the view from the top floor of the B&B.

We had no warning that Les Flornetines was situated on a one way section of a street. What looked straightforward on gps was a nightmare and made for a very fraught arrival. Luckily Henri Jean eventually came to our rescue. This should have been pointed out on the website.

No bedside table/light on one side of bed. Breakfast limited but nice what was offered. Restrictive "no food allowed in room". No English language channel (BBC world?) on TV. Lounge locked. Poor fire alarm/action instructions.

Amazing view from our room to the castle. It had two terraces, lovely furnishings and was very clean and comfortable. The owner was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off at the train station which was very helpful!

Great to have tea, coffee and a kettle in the room but no UHT milk provided.

We stayed for 3 days and we booked 2 rooms. We paid more for the Florentine room on the top floor and it was well worth it for the amazing terrace and views of the Cite. As far as I can tell we had the best views in the whole town! Both rooms were tastefully decorated and charming. The hosts are lovely. The breakfast is simple and good. Next door there's a good restaurant La Trivalle.

Can't think of anything except may be a hairdrier would be good but I imagine there was one to borrow if I had asked.

The room was beautiful, very spacious with a beautiful view of the fortress, an excellent location and with a very friendly and helpful hostess.

The fact that it was close to the medieval Citè, which can be the only reason to visit Carcassonne, and next door to an unpresuming but really good little restaurant.

The view, which was of a wall a few metres away; breakfast, which was quite spartan and served in small portions; nowhere to hang anything (which is irritatingly common - I don't know why these places assume you like living out of a suitcase). The website says that the services include an airport shuttle, but in fact you have to walk about half a mile to get to it. It is irritating that you can't check in before 17:30. This means that you have to hang around for hours with all your luggage after arriving in Carcassonne (if you arrive by plane, that is). You should also be able to pay by credit card.

very comfortable room, with an excellent bed, excellent location with a very short walk to the old town

breakfast was no more than adequate, good quality lacking a bit in choice to much either / or, Not allowed to browse a buffet table. this would have made it better. Communal lounge area not available for use.

We loved everything.

We stayed in the top floor room "Les Florentine", which was lovely, unusually with 2 terraces, with sun loungers provided, and a spectacular view towards the walled city. Very clean and nicely decorated, and extremely well located within walking distance of the historic centre.

The room had a beautiful view of the castle and across to the mountains. Only drawback was that it was athe top of the house and was quite away to haul a heavy suitcase. however it was a lovely room with two terraces. Ther owner was very friendly and helpful and we would return.

We had a spectacular room - full view of the castle and two balconies. Would not stay in any other room in Carcasonne! The host was also wonderful.

This accommodation is lovely, in a very convenient location (only few minutes walk from the medieval town) and the owners are very friendly and kind. The rooms are very spacious, well-kept and clean. I would reccommend this accommodation and I will certainly go back in the future (Carcassonne will always have a place in my heart!).
