Excellent location. Very courteous and helpful staff. Responsive to our needs. Clean rooms. We booked a Junior Suite for two adults and two children ages 9 and 14. They brought an additional bed when we asked and there was still plenty of room for all of us to move around in the room. For Paris standards this is a great hotel and we will definitely stay there again if we go back.
The only thing that we didn't like was the bathroom sink. It was a bit small for a four star hotel. But we found out it is normal size according to Paris standards. The other thing was that the nightly rate was a bit pricey. But again for Paris it was normal.
Great surroundings, staff responsive and prompt, best accommodations we had in 4 week trip. Setting very pleasant, close to underground, grocery stores close by. We loved the place.
Delay in getting cab to train station...waited 40 min. and close to missing train. Plan well ahead.
A larger than usual room than is normal in this area of Paris. Very professional staff. And, for me most important - a comfortable place outside where one could smoke ( I know USA reviewiers will be outraged by this - but it happens - it's Europe: we smoke).
No dedicated service lifts - so you spend hours waiting for the lift which is in the basement filling itself up with sheets etc. And then the corridors are full of the big ugly trollies needed to service the rooms - really off-putting
The courtyard of the hotel is very relaxing and well-kept. A bowl of fresh fruit greeted us on arrival and there were facilities to make a cup of tea.
Old fashion room
Location Design Garden Parking
Smell in the toilet Beds too hard and too small
The area was comfortable and inviting
The bar staff were abrupt and couldn't cope with the number of people. They were quite rude when I went to the counter to order a drink and I was told I had to wait he was too busy.
- Staff at front desk were great and friendly and helpful. - The garden was well done and inviting. - Manager at hand was available to talk to and was helpful in listening to my complains which is highly appreciated
- The elevator was broken and there was no one to help carry my luggage up 3 flights of stairs. - The refrigerator in my room was left open when I checked in. - In order to keep the refrigerator door closed, the was a phone book placed at the bottom of fridge to tilt the fridge to keep door closed.
We liked the location and the terrace outside. The employees were friendly but sometimes overwhelmed with "tour groups" when we needed help.
We did not like that there was not a restaurant or a small eating facility but there were close by.
Bathroom needed updating. Old grout made the bathroom look unclean
beautiful outdoor setting
Fabulous location and great hotel with a beautiful courtyard in the heart of one of Paris' wonderful neighbourhoods.
Wifi was very sketchy. Hotel room was not quite ready when we arrived at 4:15 in the afternoon, we had to wait 10 minutes.
Our windows were facing the court yard, so it was very relaxing at night.
Breakfast. 20 euro is a bit high for that quality and assortment.
Great location for exploring the Marais area, close to great cafés and boutiques. Handy to Metro station. Staff were very helpful and our room was very comfortable and clean.
The location was excellent.
Lifts took a long time.
Loved the courtyard. Staff very helpful. Lovely quiet room.
The only thing that let this hotel down was the rudeness of the bar staff in the hotel bar. We tried to go in for a drink twice and both times experienced very rude staff so we went for a drink in one of the lovely bars outside the hotel instead.
I absolutely loved the staff and the beautiful courtyard!
I did not like that I had my room in the Rodin building and had to drag my suitcases up 13 steps before reaching the elevator. With kids that was a hassle. So book a room in one of the first 4 buildings if you can. Rooms a bit outdated.
The Courtyard for relaxing The location - really handy for the Marais and in a great neighbourhood
The lack of bar staff service and attention in the courtyard. Glasses and rubbish left uncleared and no-one offering drinks. The slightly kitsch and outdated decor. The lift in the Eiffel building which was slow and temperamental.
Very pleasant atmosphere on arrival with helpful staff; superior room not large but sufficient for our needs; also bathroom quite small but had both bath & shower facilities & towels changed every day; cannot comment on restaurant as we went out in the evening to dine but had the option of returning to the hotel and sitting out in the secluded courtyard relaxing with a drink.
The only comment I wish to make is the wasted space taken up in the bedroom with cooking facilities; even if you wanted to cook there are no cooking utensils available; a fridge is ample.
Unfortunately we were not able to travel due to an accident, but the Hotel did not refund, nor a Credit as the other Hotel we booked in Marseilles.
I realise I booked a non refundable rate, but the other hotel in Marseilles gave us an extension till December 2014.
Hotel very chic. Staff helpful & friendly.
Location poor for this area
Good location, good size room (for Paris), mattress was comfortable
This was our wedding night and we were sad to find the reception staff were extremely unwelcoming. My wife was unable to sleep due to a bright light shining in through the gaps around the curtains - you could read a book in the room there was so much light. We rang reception asking for this light (part of the hotel courtyard) to be turned off and nothing was done to fix the problem. Having read the reviews about this place we were very disappointed by the hostile welcome and lack of effort to make even sleeping possible.
Some of the staff was friendly
We booked a Juniorsuite Executive, we got less than nice rooms with a door connecting them because they had mismanaged our booking. The bathroom fixtures was dirty with old dirt. The waiter in the restaurant was rude. In the hallway outside our room they had put some sort of cleaning gas that made it look like smoke in the corridor and it smelled really nasty, even in our room. This hotel has a long way to go before they can call them self a four star hotel. We were really disappointed.
Service was very helpful, for example, assisting with a call in French to cancel a reservation at a restaurant. Location is close to Metro. Walking distance to interesting region of Paris.
Noise from courtyard into wee hours of night on two of 6 nights (weekend). Small rooms; drapes were decorative and did not close too keep out light - only sheer curtains covered window.
Pretty garden, design of restaurant and garden
