The hotel has the character of an old fashioned French hotel but crucial bits, especially the s En suite bathrooms have been well modernised. The location is perfect, in the centre of town, the staff were friendly - the presence of a small child made us feel we were part of the family. The cooking is excellent: not complex, but imaginative with delicate use of spices and unusual combinations of ingredients. The cheapest menu is 29 euros and it's well worth it.

It's a small hotel and this means sometimes the reception area isn't staffed. Once we couldn't get in to the hotel at 5.30 pm even though it should have been open. Service in the restaurant is slow. Our three courses took two and a half hours. This suited us (and as far as I could tell everyone else). Such a pace is not unusual in France and I don't know if it was intentional or due to lack of staff in the kitchen. It wouldn't have suited someone who wanted a quick meal.

The location, comfort of the rooms, cleanliness and the helpfulness of the staff.

Breakfast and I thought it was a little expensive for this time of year.

Hotel was very helpful when we arrived and realised we had booked a room for 1 instead of 2.

Great location in the middle of the old town. Lovely quirky style to the hotel and its rooms. High quality sheets, bathrooms etc.

The unfriendly staff, especially the reaction from them that 8.30am was too early for us to check out. The lack of WiFi despite the website saying that it is available.

The hotel was beautifully furnished. The waitress who served us in the restaurant and was very apologetic about our room debacle but unfortunately not in a position to grant us another room at the same price was delightful.

The hotel was closed on arrival - although the website stated 5.30 opening the lady had told us it would be open after 5.00 - it was not! The room was very cold, and we were not given the correct room. They said a standard room over the courtyard did not exist as it said it did on your website. We had to pay extra for another room over the courtyard or we would have had to stay in a room overlooking the road which was noisy as it was wet outside and you could constantly hear cars passing. I had specifically requested a quiet room with twin beds. Neither room offered had twins. The restaurant with the beautiful vaulting was not opened that night as they had only heated the room by the front door. The wine was massively overpriced for this region and considering we were right in Limoux country, they did not offer the local Cremant - only pink champagne at 10 euros a coupe. The food was disappointingly bland and you needed a magnifying glass to see the slivers of cheese served. The bill on the other hand was a much larger size!!

Good location in centre of old town. Lovely old building, attractive decor. Pretty breakfast room.

One way system meant it was hard to find. Our room not that special despite being 'superior'.

Boutique style, excellent quality, amazing restaurant, great location in Mirepoix, comfortable bed, great shower

No door on bathroom in room 2 (part of design but prefer not to have steam in bedroom!). Other bedrooms different layout so suggest requesting them if you are like me.

Good facilities and the location was great. Staff seemed a bit overloaded on the weekend but they were very helpful and friendly.

Highest quality in every detail i.e. bed linen, toiletries, furnishings, decor...all high end. Staff appeared to be entirely young-ish women including chef with children of their own in evidence. Meal was modern cuisine at reasonable price...good wine list priced medium to high. The hotel rivals detail for detail the Great Northern Hotel at King's Cross...but for a fraction of the price.

When the hotel is shut it is really shut. No response until about 6 in the evening. O.k. once you've got a key, but frustrating if you've arrived in town & need the toilet for instance.

Comfortable, tastefully decorated, friendly hotel. I believe it was originally a restaurant and that the food is excellent, but we didn't eat there. I would definitely stay here again.

Free wifi, but patchy throughout hotel. No air conditioning in room.

Its central location - within easy walking distance of the centre of historic Mirepoix.

The fact that the hotel was not manned until after 5.30pm for checking in - this was not made clear previously by; private car parking was in a filthy garage, being used as a builders store; entrance to the hotel from the garage was through active building works; the (family) room was poorly furnished, a fridge doubled as a bedside table, pumping out heat; internal windows to loo and bathroom did not have privacy glass and were poorly ventilated and damp; we couldnt have the windows open as they overlooked a series of roofs and a cat kept trying to come in; there was also a smell of cooking from a local restaurant; The restaurant, one of our main reasons for staying there as we had enjoyed meals there before, was closed!! The cost for having booked via an Internet provider was displayed as being €10 euros more! For the quality of accommodation, it was very overpriced and poor value for money, in our view.
