Hôtel Les Ursulines  

The building is stunning, being in the old part of the city it's on Roman foundations and amidst a medieval street plan. They've spent a lot on doing it up, but the staff let it down. The cleaners don't clean, the waiters don't wait and the Reception staff sting you for every Euro.

There's nowhere to park (the roads wouldn't allow two Smart cars to pass) so the garage is in the hotel basement, down a 1:1 ramp - possibly steeper. Given the shortage of space, we politely tucked our 'bikes out of the way, behind pillars, so as not to use up any car bays. Then they charged us 7€ for the parking anyway. The light fittings in our room were all thick with dust. Overall, including a several course meal with veal, asparagus and the all important Isles Flotantes, the Hotel des Ursullines cost 300€, making it by far the most costly of the trip and by no means the best.

Very good location in a very pretty town, so long as you can walk up and down hills back to centre-not far.

One of our group woud have liked a stand up shower. I would have liked a small chest of drawers or shelves in the wardrobe.

Very well located reasonably comfortable good staff.

Accommodation was comparatively expensive for what it was. Very expensive resturant that gave very little food and although advertised as gastronomic was actually very average. Ok to stay but don't eat in the hotel.

The food was excellent. We congratulate the kitchen. The german receptionist was especially friendly and helpfull to us. Thank you.

The staff in the restaurant was partly very nice (the dutch person) the rest not so. Had a great time still.

The Hotel was the cheapest we stayed in in a week in France and was easily better than any of the others. Looking at some of the other reviews I was a bit worried about the room but it was really super and at that price we were both very satisfied.Autum is also a very pleasant stop while travelling through France.The Breakfast was also good and the staff very friendly. All in All I would definitely stay there again.

Liked the location in the old part of Autun. The cathedral St Lazare is interesting. Missed out on the gourmet hotel restaurant, fully booked, but the alternative reserved for us, La Chapitre, was close by and excellent.

The underground car parking at Les Ursulines is tight and difficult but there is no alternative as the on street parking is very limited. Be prepared to shunt around a little to get into a parking place.

The location is superb. The restaurant is good.

Having stayed there 2 years ago, we found everything to be rather shabby. Although the rooms were clean, hallways, breakfast room, lobby, looked dreary.

The city which is very historic but does seem to lack the renowned Roman remains apart from the ampitheatre.

We were initially given the worst room in the hotel with a lift shaft travelling through it. We were moved after complaining to a luxe room but there was little to suggest luxury. This is a tired, shabby and out-dated hotel that only has it's location to recommend it. Of the many hotels we have stayed in through Booking.com, this is the worst. We were even charged more for breakfast than was advertised and the meal was very ordinary. We did not use the so called Gastronomic restaurant since it was extremely expensive and mostly empty as a result.

Comfortable hotel with good service and facilities. Ideally located for day trips and sightseeing in the local region.

Prachtig oud 17-eeuws klooster met een mooi uitzicht over het landschap. Mooi gelegen dicht bij het centrum en kerk. Parkeren kan in het smalle straatje voor het hotel. De kamer was eenvoudig maar voldeed. Ontbijt was goed in de sfeervolle onbijtruimte.

Ik miste een douchescherm waardoor de badkamer nogal nat werd. Het restaurant is sfeervol maar erg prijzig. 200M verderop zit een leuk restaurantje (relais des Ursulines) met prettige prijzen en een goede kaart. Ook rond de kerk er in het centrum zijn vollop restaurantjes.

Je n'ai pas apprécié une surfacturation à cause du 1er mai. Chambre étroite, le lit prend toute la chambre (pas de table de chevet, en réalité une chambre à une personne dans laquelle on a glissé un lit de 1,40m). Le coût du petit déjeuner est extravagant par rapport à la qualité (et la quantité)

J'ai apprécié son cadre romantique, son joli jardin clos et son emplacement géographique au coeur de la vieille ville non loin de la cathédrale mais aussi son calme.

Je n'ai pas aimé : - la literie et la décoration de la chambre un peu surannées - la vieille moquette de l'escalier et des couloirs - le parking payant pour les voitures et les difficultés de stationnement gratuit à proximité de l'hôtel.

Das Hotel war im De Luxe Zimmer (122,- Euro) eng und schmuddelig (alte Teppiche und Schimmel im Bad), Blick durch 2 Schießscharten auf einen Hinterhof. Entsprach bei weitem nicht dem was die Internetseite versprach. Gastronomie: Von den bestellten 6 Degustations-Gängen wurden nur 5 gereicht. Für einen Preis von 50,- Euro pro Person absolut drittklassige Küche. Das einzige, was nicht zu überbieten war ist die Aroganz des Oberkellners. Er gehört mit Sicherheit zum Kundenabwehrdienst. Wir sind etwa alle 2-3 Wochen in Burgund, aber hier hat leider wenig gestimmt.
