Big room, two stairs. Clean and comfortable. 15mins away from Troyes and 10 from Forêt d'Orient. Village looked dead at dusk

Breakfast isn't worth it. Small shop opened 7/7 next to as well as a bakery. Better to get your food there

The location and the settings of the hotel.

There isn't anything that we really didn't like. The Hotel is currently going through modernisation so we are sure that once the works have been completed it will look great like the restaurant and the room.

Aesthetically, the hotel is very pleasing, and the surrounding architecture is also very pleasing.

The restaurant was fully booked when we arrived just after 8 pm, having travelled for 7-hours without a decent meal. We found this strange given that we had booked our rooms over two weeks in advance. There aren't any other restaurants in Piney, so we ended up eating a bar meal but were charged an extortionate price for an inadequate meal. There was no accompanying relishes/sauces to our dry meal of bits of beef and chips - not even mayonnaise (rather bizarre given we were in France!). The swimming pool (piscine) is actually located away from the hotel; across the road!

Our booking for 4 beds gave us a two room penthouse (well, it was up in the roofspace at least) with one massive king+ sized bed. Characterful rooms in an old timber-framed buildings. Great value for size and character of room in a fascinating village.

The restuarant was set in a barn like room - good looking but a bit echoey. The meals were fine but have to say the wine by the glass-full was the meanest I have ever seen - the waitress took great care to pour slowly and stop a bit above halfway. Others have said this but it is inescapable - it is a nice hotel in a great historic village set on one of the busiest roads for 24 hour trucks. I don't know where they were going but they kept on going there all through the night. I guess that is why the cost was so reasonable though...

L'accueil. Le personnel. Le restaurant Il faudrait revoir le confort de la salle de bains, notamment la robinetterie de la baignoire ou il est difficile d'obtenir de l'eau à température idéale.

Nous avons apprécié l authenticité de cet hôtel, son charme, l'accueil et le calme.Trés bonne literie.

Dommage qu'il y ai quelques lacunes au niveau de la propreté.Toiles d'araignées en grand nombre dans la chambre, séche cheveux non fonctionnel ainsi que la tv. Nous aurions apprécié du café et du jus d'orange maison au petit déjeuner et des dépliants touristiques en français.

Le personnel est très sympatique. La direction a fait un geste commercial pour s'excuser des problèmatiques chauffage rencontrées.

Dans la chambre , Le chauffage ne fonctionnait pas. Par ailleurs par moment, nous n'avions plus d'eau chaude ou plus d'eau froide. Des toiles d'arraignées par ci, par là... Au restaurant, nous avons attendu presque 1 heure avant d'avoir notre entrée ( fromage chaud sur salade ) car il manquait du pain. Finalement nous avons eu notre plat avec du pain de mie.

Le restaurant est très bien.

L'hôtel étant en travaux, bien sûr tout n'est pas parfait, et notamment les petits escaliers pour descendre à la chambre ou pour sortir de la chambre.Un peu dangereux à mon goût. Une fois être parvenue à la chambre, rien à dire. Très bon confort et chambre spacieuse.

J'ai beaucoup apprécié la baignoire à bulles. Et je ne parle pas de mes 3 petites filles ...

Nous étions 4adultes et 2 petits enfants, le séjour était sympa, la piscine aussi mais un peu froide, la cuisine était très bonne, la chambre manquait de finitions. Pour le pris on a bien profite de notre séjour, on pourrais espérer mieux pour l'acceuil et les chambres. Ça viendra peut être.....
