A beautiful old building decorated in it's original style. Room facilities first class
The two young women that work there are so sweet. The rooms were big and the bed was comfortable. The room are clean and the price is right. This is an old property and they are trying...
No coffee in the morning! No breakfast is do-able, but no coffee is harsh!
Lit en Loire is a B&B and not a hotel. It is therefore quite personal and the person is charge is a wonderful host, charming and helpful. The room we had was spacious well appointed, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good. The location for visiting Tours is perfect.
Nice homely atmosphere and friendly greetings
staff response to a request for a taxi was to give the guest some taxi numbers. 20 minutes of refusals/busy/no car/ etc and a very sour driver when it did come because of the short distance needed by the guests. Staff should order the taxi !
Beautiful decor. Lovely people & breakfast & great position.
The house is a formerly grand residence, and as (essentially) a B&B it is trying to retain that style - profusions of gold cushions free-standing roll-top bath, etc. The car parking is a must have. Proximity to Tours (about 10 minutes' walk) a real plus.
Needs to pay a little more attention to cleanliness/detail, e.g. someone else's hair in the basin plug-hole, no plug in the bath.
Friendly welcome. Secure inside bicycle storage place. Just a short walk across the Wilson bridge to reach the centre. Charming large room in a house with plenty of character. Good continental breakfast.
The welcome on both of my visits to Lit en Loir was very warm and friendly; the rooms are wonderful - full of individual style and charm - and spotlessly clean. The location is also a real bonus with beautiful views across the river to the old town which is only a short walk from the hotel.
Cleanliness, happy helpful staff. Large comfortable room. Good breakfast (Continental style). If I go to the area again, I wouldn't bother looking for somewhere else to stay - this would be it!
Not being able to check in until 5:00 p.m. - but she did open the doors a little early when she realised we were there.
The warm welcome and care taken in eye catching decor made this a really pleasant and comfortable place to stay. Difficult to beat it for value, and located close to town.
On street parking opposite the hotel was a small downside as there was little space on the night we stayed.
Every aspect of our atay was remarkable - the welcome and attention from the owner, extraordinary and wonderful decor and comforting our rooms, excellent and substantial continental breakfast and amazing value for money! Probably one of the most welcoming and lovely places we 'be stayed in!
The rooms are nice and well kept. Good bed, bathroom, sheets and towels. Good "basic" breakfast.
The owner is unpolite and rude. I wont go back to a place where you can not ask the owner a small favor.
From the moment we walked in we liked the French authentic decor and furnishings. The host was so welcoming. Our friends had left a message for us and on arrival the host phoned them so we could talk. Host very accommodating throughout our 5 night stay. Location was great for walking or cycling. We will be recommending the place to our niece who is a travel broker.
- Wel located. - Easy access (by car, by foot, by bike) - Gentle hostess - Possibility to parc car not far from it - nice breakfast - quiet place - possibility to protect your bikes
- when you are by bike and it rains, it is difficult to wait till 5 pm for the opening of the place to stay...Lucky, the hostess was there and exceptionnaly, accepted we get in earlier...
cozy a la ''vintage'' B&B close to downtown, perfect bed
Noise from street( but if you have earplugs, it isn't a problem)
Studio where i stayed was really spacious with attached bathrooms and kitchen
Rooms were spacious, clean and had lots of character. Very friendly and helpful hostess. Great location - opposite the river and just a short walk over the scenic bridge to the centre of the old quarter. Amazing cathedral.
Only that we couldn't get onto the wifi.
Everything about this establishment was excellent. Particularly the young lady who checked us in and gave us all the information we needed. The breakfast was excellent and the location on the banks of the Loire was ideal for visiting Tours. Car Parking in the hotel grounds was a bonus. We will definitely visit again & recommend to friends & family
What is there not to like. We liked it very much
Large room and comfortable bed.
Reception staff generally unhelpful; renovations of the property are incomplete leaving rough and unsafe floors in the kitchen and hallway. the courtyard view is an unsightly mess of electrical cables and rubbish. i suggest the works be completed and the area tidied before continuing to rent this out. car parking on site is very limited. We had to park across a very busy intersection. Steep stairs make access with luggage difficult.
Location and staff
Friendliness. Location. Lovely room.
Romantic and authentic atmosphere, very friendly and helpful landlady, excellent value for the price.
In the spring the nearby road traffic noise was not problematic at all but in summer the rooms overlooking the river Loire may be disagreeable because of the road traffic and lack of air conditioning together so choose another room.
closea main street with traffic
Beautiful old house, felt like I was staying in a chateau. Huge room with wonderful antique furniture. Private parking. Easy walk over the bridge into town.
Narrow entrance, be careful not to scratch the side of your car as I did!
Charme. Location. Host is lovely.
Room was a bit too cold.
