Place Stanislas (4 miles) – The splendid 18th century architecture of this pedestrianized square in Nancy has resulted in its place in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Fine Arts Museum (Musée des Beaux Arts) is on the square’s western side and there are many other museums in and around the area including the Musée de l'École de Nancy and the Musee du Lorraine among others.

Verdun (one mile) – Verdun was one of the major battlefields of World War I and is now the home of the World Center for Peace, Freedom and Human Rights.
