With its early 20th century architecture, Hotel Excelsior sits in Tines, the last village in the Chamonix Valley. It offers panoramic views of the Mont Blanc mountain range. The room was very clean.cleaning every day. The crew is kindly and smiling,trying to please you. The hotel is 200-250 meters from bus station.For ski vacation,walking with ski boots 250 meters,twice a day,it's too far.so I carried the boots to and from the lift. Next time I defently rent a car,if I want to stay in this hotel.

Was very good for the discounted price we booked. breakfast offered for $10 Euros was very good. Dinner selection was very limited and a bit pricey for what was offered. Definitely need a vehicle if staying at this location.

If you are travelling by car, I highly recomend to stay at the Hotel Excelsior: nice staff, clean and confortable room and most of all, wonderfull view of the mountains!! I think I`ll never forget those images Only the location.

Excelsior is a charming old building in a quiet area with forest and river walks on the doorstep. The closeness of the bus-stop and train station make it very easy to access during the day, though it is a little isolated at night given that the Chamonix bus service closes in the early evening. This is compensated by a lovely terrace for sunset drinks and an excellent restaurant that well deserves its "Michelin mention" rating. The staff are genuinely friendly and kind and helped ensure a very enjoyable stay.

Room was prepare with fresh cleaned sheets and double-deck bed for my girls before we arrived. We had a very warm surprise when we opened the door of our room, the heaters were already turned on high. It was very welcoming. Snow on the roofs were 0.5meters thick and weather was absolutely freezing. Walking into the warm room brought smiles to all our faces. The hotel is located at the outskirts of Charmonix, parking is relatively easy and advisable to take the public bus (about 10minutes walk and passes provided free by the hotel) as traffic is high and roads narrow in Charmonix. There is a bus every fifteen minutes.

The view from our room was wonderful. We also liked the large modern bathroom. Breakfast was good and also the view from the breakfast room was amazing. The food at the restaurant was very good. It was easy to get to from Geneva and and from the ski pistes. Some members of staff at the reception were not very enthusiastic to help us. There were no duvets in the bed but blankets. One evening our room was filled with a strong smell of smoke, and in the corridor it was even worse. This turned out to be a mistake with the use of the fire place downstairs. This wouldn't be so serious if it hadn't proven us that there were no (functioning) smoke detectors in the hotel.

A family run hotel, great staff, wonderful location and a great restaurant. Also it is easy to get skis etc, it is just one stop on the ski bus, so very close. We liked the quiet location. It is easy to get to shops etc at Argentierre or Chamonix. Some travellers might find it too quiet, but we loved it!

Was very nice but far away from the centre, and the last train you have to take at 19.51, if you lost this one you pay 30euro for taxi. The room was large ,was very worm, the view was so nice,i can't say anything bed about it.
