Score from 193 reviews Good
Ideally located in Sablé, a city which has maintained its architectural, natural and cultural richness, the hotel is close to a number of historical sites.
Score from 50 reviews Good
The grounds are lovely and there is plenty to do in the area. Good restaurant
Stains on the carpet
Great gardens (as we had a dog with us). Fabulous food & service (restaurant scored full marks in every aspect).
Right on a busy main road & very noisy which led to poor sleep. Bathroom quite tired, could do with updating
Tucked away in the quaintest of villages, Saulges is a little French Gem! Make sure you have some time to explore the quaint village and the history behind the 2 churches. The restaurant in the hotel is fabulous and beats most London Michelin star restaurants. The choice is superb, presentation fab and taste amazing. Make sure to enjoy some of the wines from the Loire Valley that they have on the wine list at very reasonable prices.
My next visit I will upgrade to the superior room. The comfort room was fine, but very basic and when you get to the quaint hotel, you realize why the prices are quite different.
It is an attractive hotel with lovely grounds. The swimming pool is a bigger bonus. The car park is excellent for safety if you have a valuable car. The room was ok - clean but a little basic.
The room should have tea and coffee making facilities. As the hotel is well located for events in Lemans, attracting British guests, it would have been nice to have had an English translation of the menu.
The quiet venue, excellent room and good food. Wifi and the swimming pool were extra bonuses
Food and wine were good, nice pool and gardens, friendly and great quiet French village.
Nothing. Only point may be to keep the restaurant open until 21:30 rather than last orders at 21:00.

Dated shower room
We stayed twice, on the way down and on the way back. As requested both stays, we had a room with twin beds on the way down. Slightly dated décor, but spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, quiet, excellent dinner and breakfast on our first visit. Restaurant staff were particularly efficient dealing with full dining room on our way home, despite having a large party of bikers from Jersey in separate part of dining room. Our dinner arrived very efficiently, full marks to them. All the staff seemed friendly and helpful. Lovely quiet and peaceful location.
On our return visit the proprietor seemed confused by our arrival and took sometime to find our booking. Instead of twin beds we had a small double on the second floor. I think the Jersey bikers had probably taken all the single beds and he had just not remembered we were coming. However the room was very clean and the bed comfortable if small. Main problem was a vicious door closer on the loo door which caught my hand, painful and resulted in badly bruised fingers and the odd drip of blood!Dinner the second time was a bit mixed, good in parts, we suspect the large party was a bit of a challenge to the chef. Breakfast was good again. Wifi didn't work the second time, though had been fine on our first visit.
Peaceful setting and calm ambience.
