눉An overall impression that Logis de France aren't partial to spending the money needed to bring this place up to its undoubted potential, and keep it that way. It's OK,but a bit tired.
눇Unique to the property: the river and mill-race, whose constant rush constitutes a different kind of quietness, conducive to meditation or reading on the bank of the stream. The double-glazing cuts out the susurration at night, but certain rooms would be hard to sleep in with a window open. A pleasant enough hotel, set in a well-tended curtilage; past its redecoration date, very two-star, but tolerable for a short stay, and the whole experience alleviated by a decent, though not outstanding, evening meal. Just as well, as there wouldn't be much else available within a short drive.
