Logis Hôtel Le Chai De La Paleine  

This was a real find. Beautifully equipped rooms in the old winery. Quiet location in the village, with attached shop for wine and local produce. Attentive and friendly staff, excellent breakfast. One good restaurant within easy walking distance in the village. Would definitely use again, perhaps for a longer stay, as we only had one night 'en route'.

Always a very pleasant stay, the hotel is very nice and the village of Le-Puy-Notre-Dame is really peaceful in the middle of Anjou wineyards. Free wifi is included, very friendly staff.

A very well run establishment with very kind hosts. We booked for 4 nights and stayed for 7. Lovely spacious room and breakfast included was a bonus.

A very warm and friendly welcome both at the hotel and in this superb region of France. We particularly liked the attention to detail in the room and around the domain. Relaxing and eating al fresco in the garden was particularly nice in the evening, the was a communal kitchen with fridge and microwave so keeping a few salads and a bottle of rose cool was good! This hotel gives the benefit of both self catering but without the inconvenience of making your own breakfast, cleaning the room or making your bed every day!

The location is stunning and the accommodation is beautifully & tastefully designed . Caroline's warm welcome was most appreciated after a long drive. The rooms were fresh and clean. The breakfast was superb . The self-catering facilities and the communal library/sitting room inspired and the 'honesty' drinks facility gratefully appreciated. We very much enjoyed our bottle of chilled local moussec taken in the lovely garden. If we had had children we know they would have loved the facilities provided especially for them. We loved: the breakfast! - home-made yogurt and conserves & the experience of eating it inside the wine-barrel! : the grounds; our comfortable room with its tea/making facilities & bottled water; the boutique- where we stocked up on our wine - Caroline's recommendations were spot-on; the honesty kitchen; our attentive and welcoming host, Caroline - nothing was too much trouble; the location and our walk around the village. PERFECT! We will certainly be back to stay for longer next time. Highly recommended.

Friendly atmosphere, beautiful gardens and comfortable rooms. Breakfast in the wine casks was lovely.

The hotel really needs a restaurant and the breakfast room would make a great room for it, although the owner seems to work hard enough already!

Perfect hotel stop over within walking distance of a good restaurant. Great facilities for children and a very big garden. Breakfast was very good also.

We were very well looked after here - breakfast served to us in the "Gypsy Caravan", great advice about where to eat in the village (excellent food and wine at Le Bouchon Ponot) and a baby-foot table in the games room. Beautiful property with farm animals and a delightful garden. Short drive into Saumur. Le Puy-Notre-Dame is a terrific spot in the Loire valley.

Very nicely placed in the lovely village of Le Puy Notre-Dame, rustic but comfortable. Restaurant (special agreement with hotel) is just 300 m away, in the very centre of the town.

Our stay at Logis Hotel Le Chai De La Paleine was wonderful. The host was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable in every way. The breakfast inside the big wine barrel was very memorable. Organic breakfast was served and we loved the homemade yogurt and jam. We highly recommend this hotel.

The proprietor made us very welcome. The hotel is in an old Wine making building which has been cleverly converted to a hotel with a resident's lounge and an honesty bar. Breakfast was extensive and we ate in a converted wine barrel which was a first. The proprietor also owns an adjoining shop selling wines, walnuts and gifts. Although Le Puy Notre Dame is a small village it is ideally located for visits to nearby Chateaux, vineyards and the town of Saumur.

Le confort, l'accueil, le décor soigné, la pièce cuisine qui évite d'aller trop souvent au restaurant, la situation géographique qui permet de faire beaucoup de visites intéressantes sans trop rouler. Les enfants ont particulièrement apprécié le baby-foot, la table de ping-pong et le trampoline.

La qualité de l'accueil. La chambre très spacieuse et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Le lieu très original : un ancien chai, rénové avec soin mais tout en conservant son authenticité. Le petit déjeuner atypique : table installée dans un ancien tonneau !

pas de restaurant proche le lundi soir mais le propriétaire sait très bien où envoyer ses hotes

Efficace, chaleureux et convivial : le service est impeccable ! Quant au petit-déjeuner, de loin le meilleur depuis longtemps, à un tarif imbattable...
