Position of hotel on the banks of the Loire; beautiful views across to the Chateau and no road noise. Easy and picturesque 5-10 minute stroll along the riverbank, across the bridge to the centre of town. Very easy access to hotel by car. Had booked secure parking but didn't use it because of the large free hotel car park in the next road. Expensive breakfast €14 and €8 for croissant & coffee - we used local boulangerie instead. However, worse than this was the fact that the tea/coffee in room consisted of only two small tubs of milk which meant one cup of tea or coffee and you had to pay for additional milk/tea/coffee at €1 per item. We therefore bought a tin of cappucino powder in the supermarket and used this instead. |

Where it was situated was excellent for our trip this time, the food was good and there were resturants over the bridge to give a walk in the evening. If you were to use the main car park in the summer there may be a worry about security. Although there is limited secure parking if you book early enough. |

The view was stunning and the location excellent. Being able to walk a short way across the bridge to enjoy the facilities in Saumur was a great advantage. The staff were charming, friendly and looked after us very well. Thank you! |

The lack of a Restaurant and offering snacks only as part of room service, is not what I would have expected from a hotel of this quality. The high price charged for the buffet breakfast, was not matched by what was on offer and the indifferent service. Further as an "accor" group hotel you expect to see staff in uniform not dressed like guests |

Helpfulness of receptionist upon our arrival on Saturday afternoon and decor of Reception seemed promising - but room not so much! I do know that the hotel is being refurbished, & we didn't have a newly- decorated room, however, although very clean, the standard of the bathroom was very depressing, and the bed was not comfortable. Being on the 'road-side' of the hotel, we were awakened earlier than we would have liked on Sunday by a group of departing (coach?) guests who took 1/2 hour to leave & stop chattering/singing! |

Fantastic view of the Chateau and Saumur main town. They offer underground parking at eur 5.50 per night. This is not necessary as there is plenty of parking nearby |

The Mercure Bords de Loire Saumur - we have been staying at this hotel for years. It is undergoing refurbishment and I must say that our room was much better than our last stay. It had been freshly painted, and had a new bathroom, carpet and t.v. There were also tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a good breakfast is available. We will continue to stay there when in the Loire. |

The staff were very helpful and the hotel was comfortable The breakfast buffet bar could have been looked after better we had to ask for basic things. On arrival work menworking in the room above us for about two hours and the same the following morning from 10am. |

marvellous view of the chateau hotel well well situates for exploring the town not enough staff to deal with the big demand around 8am in the breakfast area on our second day more emphasis might have been made when we booked in, and asked about restaurants nearby, of how excellent the room service evening menu is - because of the poor weather we wished we had eaten in our room rather than out in the rain! Pity the hotel did not have a restaurant. |

Situated in Saumur, at the edge of the Loire, between Angers and Tours. A hotel of character, it was completely renewed to a contemporary style. |
Located on the hills of Saumur, less than 3 kilometres from the city centre and castle, Les Terrasses de Saumur boasts superb views over the city and castle. |
The Manoir de Restigné is ideally situated at the heart of the Bourgueil vineyards. It offers spacious and comfortable rooms, all with a unique 18th-century style decor. |
Within sight of the stunning castle, the Hotel Saint-Pierre is situated in a quiet central area of Saumur, a beautiful city with a perfect blend of history and modernity. |
